Is it true that Google Spider doesn't crawl the Nofollow links? Is it really irrelevant compared to Dofolllow?
From the horse's mouth: About rel="nofollow" - Google Webmaster Tools Help There is also a video by Matt Cutts on that page.
That isn't entirely correct... http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/pagerank-sculpting/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nofollow#Interpretation_by_the_individual_search_engines Google follows the link, but does not add it to it's index.
I'm still unclear as to how it treats nofollow links, does it give value to PageRank, does it give value to the anchor text and boost ranking, or does it count towards the number of backlinks. I'm confused coz for many of my websites I have seen that 90% of the backlinks are from nofollow sites, and still the website was able to get high PR and get ranked as well. Maybe you would be able to shed some light...thanks
the googlebot will not follow the "nofollow" link, that means it will bring you nothing but perhaps some traffic if your post is worth reading.
