I am looking for a user point of view not SEO/type, so just friendly welcoming etc. I would like to hear any negatives from a user point of view. The Trinket Store I am aware of inconsistent image/thumbnail size which will be addressed, just general usability/professionalism, if you arrived at the homepage do you feel confident to buy?
It's like finding a new catalog open on the table, you read it, the stuff looks cool, then you ask your friend, who/what is this? IMO, you need more stuff on the landing page that says what you are, like the cover of the catalog.
Oooh, nice site. Personally, I like to see some kind of verification before I buy anything online. Especially something like the BBB logo. -Cassie
BBB is a scam. Are you a member? They protected us, not the customer. I don't think that symbol is worth the bandwidth from a consumer point of view. :/
So I am just trying too hard to get straight to the sale. You would prefer the homepage to be blurb-ish? Thanks for the opinions, its gaining in the rankings so I wanted immediate professionalism and products that they were searching for, I guess for the insecure user it defo not enough?
Maybe a three column landing page with your products on each side and your biz info that sucks me in, in the middle?
On a nice note today I had a lass that wanted 3 ..4 row chokers for her bridesmaids wedding in 3 weeks, the serps are closing in and this is /otherhalf/bread knife/Elaine's best bet at getting out of her shitty job and being really self employed. So it's an ongoing thing that will constantly change. So on the homepage a good paragraph "about us" before the featured products, is that what you want?
Yes, I stated, we as a member are protected, not the consumer. They always worked it out to be what we asked, not the consumer. That's why I have no faith in them as a consumer.
OK, lets go on the presumption my main audience is UK which it will be primarily before I expand it, BBB aside, just a general UK user looking for costume jewellery and finding me.
The menu is a little obscure to me. I like the banner. Did not see anything to effect of a secure certificate mentioned. I will not shop online without a physical address and phone number available. Then once I see that info I want to be able to verify address and phone number. Good luck. Shannon
Ok, thank you Shannon. I totally agree. That's what I meant by verification. I was just using BBB as an example.
OK I use Worldpay to process the payments using their SSL. I should build that into the footer, constructive.
I would like to know who you are. I didn't see an About page. Whj should I give you may money? How do I know you actually exist? Well, clearly you exist, but does your stock?
I agree about the 'who are you?' comments. Also, the contact us, is really bare IMO. Why not put your offline details there or a line that says you'll get back to them in x hours. The currency shows as a '?': 7.95 Get some testimonials up too if you can, that's always re-assuring. In the UK you could go for http://www.trustuk.org.uk/ and/or http://www.safebuy.org.uk/ as far as the BBB is concerned.
Thanks, I will be implementing most of the things mentioned, does anyone else have a problem viewing the £ currency sign?
I agree with a lot of the things previously said, definitely an about us page, address & phone number and the three column idea is great too. Something to give the consumer a feel for what you have to offer on the main page and then to search further once they are comfortable with what your talking about in the middle section. Great Ideas! I'm viewing from the US in Internet Explorer and don't have a problem viewing the currency sign. Just so ya know. On a side note-I've been on the hunt for pear shaped sapphire crystals (not real sapphires) for my Bridemaids, I haven't gone through the search of your site yet for actual jewelry, but do you have anything that comes to mind?
Aww..that's a bummer. But thanks for getting back to me on that! Good luck with the site and getting everything set up. Some of your pieces of jewelry are really pretty!
