Biggest Marketing Lie #4 : “In Order To Be Succesful,
You’ve Got To Work Your Ass Off”

Ok, so you’ve read #5 of the TOP Five Worst Marketing
Advice – Ever. And you you’re thinking at this point, “If
I’m going to leapfrog the herd and skip paying my dues,
what I’ve got to do is buy more ebooks, network with more
people, and work even more hours, right?”

    WRONG. That is BAD advice.

Let’s tackle the idea of “working harder”. Take the typical
9-5 job. Maybe in your past life you’ve worked at a big
firm, a law office, or some generic run-of-the-mill company.
You’re sitting in the corner cubicle next to the irritating co-
worker who constantly complains about company procedures,
dwindling supplies, a wacky boss, and snobbish co-workers (HA!)

One day you get a memo reading,”If you don’t pick up the
pace, we will have no choice but to let you go”.

Ouch. That was a shot to the gut. But, you don’t take it
lightly, memo was typed on A-grade paper, must mean
business. So you look for more work load to carry on your
shoulders. You offer to take out the garbage, scratch
corporate back, and pick up the slack of your co-workers.

You decided to take on more responsibility. Congratulations,
but are you making any more money than you have prior to
the increased workload. Chances are you did not. There was
no mention of a wage increase or salary bump. You are still
paid the same hourly rate although your workload has increased
    significantly.

The same can be applied to running a successful online business.

There is a huge difference between working harder and working
smarter. Most people are programmed to work harder for less
pay, and of course, most people’s livelihoods are threatened if
    they don’t perform beyond expectations.

When running a business, you want to be sure that every action
you take is a productive one. Actions that could potentially lead
to new leads, new sales, new conversions, and stronger
relationships with other people. Simply “being busy”, doesn’t
    count for jack (sorry Jack).

There are some people who MADE working harder a reason for
success. But it comes at a price. Burn out, fatigue, hallucinations,
and lost purpose consume most workaholics.

So, by working smarter, I mean primarily “attracting highly
qualifiedleads and prospects to your business, with little
    expendable effort on your end”.

Completely different ideas from what most people were taught
in college, business school, in sales training, or orientation at
your new job. To implement and understand that “In order to
be successful, you need to work your ass off” is false; you must
choose to develop a new state of mind.

When “attracting” business to you, you only perform certain
actions that get quantifiable results – usually within hours to
a few days to no more than a couple of weeks depending on
what type of advertising strategy you use, as there are several.

Let me be clear. This is not to be mistaken as laziness. This
isn’t just about thinking and wanting a load of interested leads
and prospects buying your products, but it certainly is the very
beginning. From this, ideas and circumstances will piece together
itself allowing you the opportunity to take action to become very
    successful.

Now, If you were a victim of bad advice (Don’t fret, I soaked
up a load of crap too along this journey), than you must choose
to stop accepting advice from most people. Especially from
unsuccessful online business people and marketers. Most people
just don’t know anything. Most people are in the poor house.

I have a theory that I’ve seen time and time again.

Many people view success as a crime (due to negative
programming), especially in sales and marketing. That’s why
they allow themselves to be victims of bad advice. Deep down
they want this nonsense to be true so they don’t have to be
    successful.

So if you’re serious about your success, stop taking bad advice
and start taking on and implementing, real, tangible advice
that will lead to results in your business.

It’s worth mentioning that the same tactics that allow you to
leapfrog over your competitors can allow you to stop pushing
for the sale of your product, for attention of your friends and
family to join your business, for traffic to get viewership to
your adsense pages. It’s a seamless transition.

To do this effectively, you want a system that will allow you to
focus only on providing value to others and marketing your
product(s)/or service, while putting cash in your pockets to
continue marketing your services and products to interested
prospects. It’s an endless cycle and it’s infinitely abundant.

For example: Forget writing copy if you’re clueless about it.
If you insist on learning how to do it (Like I was), pick up a
few books and courses on copywriting before you put pen to
paper. You waste more of your time and energy being ignorant
to a subject if there is information out there to help you go
    through the learning curve.

If you don’t have the time to learn copy or choose not to, and
you want to generate money quicker, hire out the copywriting
services to a more experienced copywriter. Saving you both
    time AND money.

If you want access to a system that will give you the opportunity
to generate cash for your marketing campaign , feel free to
check out my sig below this article.

Earl Nightingale once said – “If you have no successful example
to follow in whatever endeavor you choose, you may simply look
at what everyone else around you is doing and do the opporsite,
because – The Majority Is Always Wrong.”

Everyone’s making their fair share and has average results, leading
average lives, and working for average wages. If you don’t want
to be average, you can’t follow what the average person does.
You want to do the opposite of the “other guy/gal”.

This is where attraction marketing comes in. Be a leader. Be
amazing. Be unforgettable. Be an Expert. Be wise.

Marketing advices have their own season. What works with you may not work with others. You also need to taste the economic waters of the country. Culture is another factor. You have to be flexible. Your geographical location has its own marketing charm.
