A .info cost you $0.99; I guess this price has something to do with the reputation of those domains. Meanwhile I know plenty of .info which rank very well. An info is certainly not as good as a dot com in term of marketing. But I don't have the feeling your SEO will be affected by this TLD.

I dislike .info.It's not worthy to invest..com is the best. What's more,I would prefer to spend more on .biz.

That's very true.... You can see many .info having better ranking at Google and for other SE's. When it comes for SERP it's content & keywords which plays an vital role and not the domain extension. though tld and server location are also important points which are to be considered and have their own importance !!! but we should not think that .info domains are of no use ;)

There's great value in .info's, you need to think outside of the box.
I've created entertainer, instructional and health related sites where .info lends itself perfectly. As for resale, thats a different story, it'll never match .com.

I use .info for some campaigns as "throw away" domains. I use it for its purpose then let it expire or park the page. I do have a few .info that rank very well. The search engines will see if you have a good site or not.

i was wondering why sometimes i found some "good" .info domains unregistered. I'm just getting started with domains, and because I wasn't confident in knowing what was a good domain, I've tried to only stick to .com and .net. I guess I'll have continue doing that until i gain more experience.
Search engines don't seem to care too much about the TLD of the website if you use SEO.

well depends. You can make an information site with .info domains so it can be worth something. I have seen some high priced sales for .infos on DNjournal. And I own a .info which ranks #1 for the search term and it made me more than 7 times the regular registeration cost.

I always laugh at those ridiculous auctions...sometimes I doubt they are even valid. A domain like sex-free.info is barely even worth reg fee.

I would never waste my money on the .biz extention, but that's me. I would definitely pick a .info name over the failed .biz extention any day.

I think .info just has underestimate value since .com or .net was more popular .. but for seo purpose .it's ok ..

I use plenty of them to make me better serp .. use this domain to link building ... cheap also . i can build much dummy blog use a little spend.

Well, if it's for resale value then I think most would agree that .com, .net or .org are more valuable as compared to .biz or .info. It may only be a perceived value but that doesn't change things.

For doing business though I believe that the extension has nothing to do with a web sites success. So for selling product or delivering a service I'd go with .info if the .com or .net extensions are taken. But, yes, my first preference would be a .com tld.

.info's are rubbish, i never buy them, there rubbish for links too, i know a guy who spent $100 on buying 100 .info domains and planned on linking them together, after 3 years the highest one is pr2 all of them are mainly pr0 and a few pr1's

I believe .info is not a factor of Google PR,
It's understandable why the pr is low since how one man can develop 100 quality sites.

I think .info will be valueable in the future, when .com harder to get, just because today people focus on .com..
Someday people will realized that type "xxxxxxxxx.info" better than "xxxxxxinfo.com" for relevance topic.

.info was a failure from day one - the average person didn't understand it and those in the know didn't trust it
