    The Chitika write-up is a bit outdated. Our primary ad unit is no longer the eMiniMalls, but rather Chitika | Premium. We're still most viable in conjunction with AdSense, but the model is a bit different.

    Now, what happens is we target the keywords people use if they come to your site via search engine. If they come to your site directly, our ads either don't show or they show backfill - AdSense is the #1 backfill choice.

    So someone comes to your electronics blog by searching "Apple iPod". Whereas AdSense would serve ads based on a keyword breakdown of your content, we'd serve ads based on "Apple iPod". Targeting is better, which makes for better CTR to search traffic.
