I think even Shawn likes the tool, but you are right, "The tool ever" is good enough, I don't want to make Shawn mad at me more than he already is

 

Actually, I suspect that Shawn likes you too, Anthony. Vicious Summer, on the other hand...

 

In reality I like VS better than Shawn

 

It may not be mutual, though... I suspect that VS and maybe Compar are the main reasons for that Red Square...

 

Funny, Compar never voted against me, in reality he is a great member of the community.

He has some rough edges, but he is a friend and a great forum player.

The first thread "Zoo thread" was sort of a shock to a new forum, Compar and I had some very tense moments at IMR (now V7) and were sort of enemies.

But as one gets to know Bob, one finds out that he is a valued member of the community and a friend. We forgave each other and moved on.

We should all try to do that, hate is bad.

As far as VS is concerned, she is my new boss, I can't say much about her

 

I think Shawn would have to go into the MySQL database to change the thread name or maybe in vBulletin it's somewhere in the admin panel.

I am sure if you ask him directly that he would change it AC. Maybe he just hasn't read this thread.

AC: If you go to the very first post in the thread and click on "Edit", once the Edit page loads you should see at the top of the Edit box (below the Delete section) two text boxes: first line says "Reason for editing", second line says "Title".

You should be able to change the title of that post and in doing so the title of the thread. That's how it works on phpBB forums, anyway...

Now, in the case of this thread, the thread title and the post title don't match -- when you try to edit your post, do you not see the "Title" box? Is this a feature of vBulletin? or a feature that's disabled because you are a Red Box member? or a featrure that is disabled because you are Anthony?

It seems there is a time limit on editing your post. I don't think he can edit his own post anymore, too much time has gone by.

 

Believe me folks (Minstrel and Kalina) I tried a long time ago to correct it.

Shawn has a 24 or 48 hour limit on editing here, you will have to ask him, but I did ask him to change it, like I said, when Shawn makes up his mind not to do something one is wasting time with the attempt to get him to help.

 

Ahhh... although I would assume that can be overridden by an Admin or Moderator without having to actually invade the database...

Maybe we can start a campaign to have "best" added to the topic title!

 

Or maybe "the 2nd best" or "the 10th best" or something... the way it is now isn't even a title...

It is a very good tool, but the title is fine if Shawn thinks it is, that is the bottom line.

You can set up and picket in front of Digital Point's home if you wish, I can FEDEX the paint for the signs and a 55 gallon drum so you guys can burn wood to stay warm at night.

Yes it is the best tool ever, Shawn has great tools also, but I am sure he likes to see innovation from others also.

 

How about FedEx-ing 55 gallons of ale instead? For that, SE will fly over and once he is DR7 we can get him to do any crazy project you want...

 

I will just hand him my complaint letter and he can hand deliver it to Summer when he moves to San Diego to start work for her
