I made this thread in hope that we can share our differences with managing our technology blogs saying that they are many of them and more are being started every day. I know that when it comes to the technology niche adsense won't be that great as a payoff as of other high paying keyword niches are but i myself must admit, when i started mine, it wasn't really about making another site just to place my adsense id in, but something that people will find interesting to read on a daily basis. When i first started out i was updating the site with 5 post every night when i got home from work and i must admit again, that took some time finding interesting articles or some new device and blogging about it. But over the time i found myself going from 5 post to 4 post Then some nights it took me about an hour or so just to decide what i'm going to write about, then when i finish one article i fine myself going sleep at the keyboard lol. So my question is, how do you guys do it? Is it all team work? I came across some technews networks like http://aving.net and in one of their articles they have a light blue coloured B saying Blog it which provides the html code, the text and the images to place right into your blog. I found this very helpful but when i do this, i will also be copying there text which is known for stealing. Or is it that if they offered it in the first place we may blog it and create the source links pointing back to them? A couple months ago i thought it was fun to run a technology blog but i recently found out it was a bit tiresome I'm in no way promoting my blog but trying to find a place where others like myself are having the same issues.
In my opinion to run a technology site you have to love the technology. My personal site I post many technology based posts because I actually enjoy the technology. I am not doing it to make money, anything I make is more of a benefit. One thing about this type of site is that geeks can tell if you do not enjoy what you are doing. I can easily tell if someone is writing what they know and love or if they are just pumping out random information. Most of the people on my site block ads. Heck, when i added the ads I posted how to block them in the same post that I announced them. This is just one of the things about geeks, they know how to block ads. The best solution would be to find a niche that you enjoy and post about it. If you do not enjoy the topic then it might be best to go elsewhere.
Yea i know what your talking about with the ad blocking plugins for firefox and IE. But although the techies know how to block the ads, the average users still click every once in a while. I normally see ppl adding the embbed video onto the front page of there blogs, I know it looks attractive on some blogs but does this take away from potential earnings? Whatever happen to a nice display image and the text to go with it then provide the link for the readers to jump to the video? Am i still behind time or something?
