The Surge is a failed propaganda tactic

The "Surge" is a failed policy even before it starts, Bush and Cheney want to extend the war in Iraq by spending an additional 100 Billion dollars and sending more troops to Iraq, but there is already stiff opposition to putting more money into a failed effort in congress.

Army Generals have reported that the Army is near the breaking point, so this means that more National Guard units will have to be sent and they do not have proper equipment or training to fight.

 

And the democrats not approving the spending is why the army is struggling as it is...

 

All the money in the world can't buy more troops than are available, in addition it takes 5 years to train 30,000 troops in case you did not understand that, which is a sure thing.

They will keep saying the dems have no plans but let's be honest neither party does. This is no more plan than stay the course was a plan. The surge will accomplish exactly what the invasion accomplished.... then what? Neither party can answer that right now and it's disgusting.

But hey as long as he can stall for time till administration change in 08 he will have gotten away with getting this country into this mess.

 

Well, there one discernable goal that can be accomplished if all else fails ie more battle ready soldiers in the Iraqi force. There's quite a lot of them, but it seems like they're getting their first truely big taste of war.

there are insurgents coming in from every side of the border and probably hundreds of sleeper cells ready to go off. This isnt a war a conventional army can win. Everyone knows this but some wont admit it
