    Hello

What does everyone think of the .support extension?

I see that some people have like tech.support or https://paychild.support

I also see that SEDO has many listings ...

    heating.support 699 GBP 2 -
    airline.support 8,999 GBP -
    finance.support 2,000 GBP - -
    polizei.support 349 EUR - -
    airport.support 9,999 GBP - -
    college.support 10,000 USD - -

What is the ICANN / Search engines / Your thoughts on how well these will do in the serps?

They are nice for APPS and branding. I must say

    Let me know your thoughts

    • I can see some value for brands to have mybrand.support
but really they'd just be treating it as a reverse subdomain that you have to pay for
    • I don't think I'd go for the examples you give
    • but maybe cityname.support could be interesting if you wanted to set up a concierge type business (or a directory </lol>)

Call me oldschool, but I've never really hopped on board with the new gTLDs because I feel that they're pointless.

I always felt like TLD's in general were pointless nonsense; adding more of them just doesn't seem like the answer... admittedly I feel the same way about mime-types so...

But adding more is what's hot and trendy right now no matter what the subject or the result. See HTML 5 -- for every good thing it offers, it creates a dozen pointless redundancies to try and address the fact that nobody seems to be able to use the existing "strict" rules properly or understand logical document structure... missing that when people can't use what we already have properly adding more stuff to misuse isn't the answer.

TLD's are the same way.... to me it always felt like some sort of racketeering scam; the higher cost for one of the new ones only further reinforcing that opinion.

Ultimately they had to be created
    • running out of .coms - there can only so many domains available for all the "Ginos Pizzeria" that are out there
    • take the power away from cybersquatters and domain hoarders
