Well I've been tracking some sites using the Mcdar datacenter check tool. Things HAVE been holding steady at least for me...it's only that there is a specific bank of servers showing the old results. 216.239.53.99 216.239.53.104 66.102.7.104 66.102.7.99 66.102.7.105 66.102.7.147 On five sites that I tested these servers ALWAYS gauge significantly different results. One site is #6 for its primary keyword on all servers, except these where it's #58. Another site is #69 for all servers, except these where it's nonexistent...yadda, yadda. If you just use the regular Mcdar Keyword Analysis tool then it seems like the serps are jumping around...but what I'm seeing tracking all servers is that my serps have stayed the same all week.
Yes - I've been tracking it since the day this began and the DCs on the Mcdar tool have flucuated between 16 on the first day of the update to 30 at the present time.
Just out of curiosity, since I don't visit any other forums, is this topic being discussed on the other boards? I'm curious if the whole seo world is buzzing about this?
re: update Until today, I had held pretty high ranking with most of the best SE keyword combinations, whatever change was made helped me dramatically. Today however, I have seen many of the most relevant phrases drop off the map entirely while everything else held firm. PR and backlinks had nothing to do with me rising in the rankings, both are pretty low and my site is less that 1 year old. I never really felt the sandbox effect either as my site was indexed rather quickly. I started receiving traffic from Google search after no more than 2 months, well before I was in DMOZ or the Google Directory. I won't speculate on what's goin' on since I don't see a clear pattern.
Hey Mopac, there's plenty of other conversations going on for sure. Here's a list of related threads... Search Engine Watch http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?threadid=4153 Cre8asite Forums http://www.cre8asiteforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1323 These are just a few of the forums I try to check out regularly.
To amend my earlier message, things just bounced all the way back to green just about across the board...rediculously so. I have two bits of red on my entire keyword tracker: one went -1 on the day but #10 overall The other is off the chart entirely but it wasn't a relative term anyway Feeling guilty 'cause others didn't make out so well. and just to reiterate, PR and backlinks had nothin' to do with this...both are low.
