I was reading some political threads and had an epiphany... One of the stupidest things you can do to yourself is not be honest with yourself and not accept facts. If you don't accept facts, or you're not honest with yourself how can you ever learn? Of course I mean admiting mistakes to yourself PRIVATELY. Publically you should always put the blame on someone else.
I cant think of one politician who is honest with anybody let alone themselves. Half the time when they getting their point across it makes you wonder if they are trying to convince us or themselves
Politicians can not publically admit fault because of stalkers that will bring that one time up and use it against them over and over again. Seriously, if Bush ever admitted he was wrong about Iraq he couldn't even suggest what to have for dinner because some asshole would call him up just to remind him that he was wrong that one time about a war so he shouldn't be trusted with dinner. Fortunatly such stalkers are rare on forums but they do exist. As such I don't expect people to admit they're wrong and I don't care to say I'm wrong. I just stop arguing. It's a way to peacefully exist the discussion without admitting anything either way. I also don't drag old comments back up. What goes on the internet stays on the internet but the person changes. The only way to find out if my opinion has changed is to bring up the topic again and hope I join it and argue a different perspective.
But how do you even recognise facts, when the brain is so skilled at self-deception? It's some sort of survival mechanism. I mean, when most of us look at ourselves in the mirror, we usually consider ourselves to be 20% or so better than we really are, at anything. Smarter, better looking, fitter, thinner, more likeable, you name it. Not recognising the truth of our stupidy, unpopularity, or unattractiveness would lead most of us to lose confidence and become social phobics, and how smart would that be?
Its a fact that there are no such things as facts. Or as GW would say: "Make no mistake, there are no facts. Or as G Bush Senior would say: "Read my lips, there are no facts"
ahh time for me to accept the facts, im a fat 19 year old virgin who has no life and spens his entire life on the computer looking at porn....... there I said it, i feel like shit now
At least you love yourself. Seriously all it takes is a personality and (pretty) girls will like you. Doesn't matter what you look like. Unless you're hideous and have a mugshot on www.fugly.net
I think for the most part a girl just wants a guy that can support her. You don't have to be rich. There's no shortage of pretty middle class girls that aren't looking for a rich guy.
