The slowest week, ever!

Well, I am really confused. Up to the last week the number of submissions was pretty much constant, then it suddenly decreased dramatically. Dream Directory received 10% of its usual submissions during the past 6-7 days. I thought it will last for a couple of days, but now I am really confused.

Did you guys notice any change at all? I could have stopped advertising at some important place that I am not aware of. The traffic has been almost the same though.
Dream Directory is fairly new and I have been promoting it since the last update, so I really do not know if submissions decrease or not before the PR update

I actually have notice that with Overdrive Directory. The submissions were really constant, then about 8 days ago, it just died. I still get submissions daily, but nothing to where it used to be. I would like to know what is going on!

People wait until the last minute to submit hoping to gain PR juice just before the price increases... So I raised my prices before the update.

haha, nice going. I just put on a promotion and that worked pretty well. My directory is predicted to hit a PR6, but who really knows! If it does, the prices are going up!

July in general seem slower because June was a record breaking month for me...I have been working on backlinks for all my directory projects especially my new bid directory so hopefully the hard-work will show results soon.

I've seen your promotion but had a hard time submitting.
All your text is one big link in IE, and it leads to website-submission-service.com
In Firefox it works a bit better, but still your guidelines are all links.

my bidding directory on signature is getting lot of submissions! even today also i got a few! but then pr update is pretty close, so may be few people are holding back!
anyways, the rates of most directories will increase after the pr, so waiting now is not all that a good idea, after all:rolleyes:
    cheers!:)

Velocity, I have fixed the problem. For some reason the banner ad screwed up everything, but I had to take it off until I can figure out why it is screwing it up! thanks for the heads up!

July has been pretty good for me. I thought people like to submit more since the update is just around the corner.

Many people think buying links now still affect on the coming PR update, so the tendency is almost obvious.

Doesn't it affect PR by buying now?

There is no way of knowing. The snapshot Google takes when determining PR is usually a couple weeks before the actual update in my experience.

So say on Aug. 1 they update PR, it will be a snapshot taken from ~Jul 15. That's just a guess. Nobody really knows exactly. In the past updates you can tell by looking at a blog. If a site has PR for posts on July 15, but not for July 16, you can draw appropriate conclusions.

I think people are waiting for new PR released. That's reasonable. :)

My submissions last night boomed with featured links without any promotion, Right now I just started a new promotion campaign hopefully it will increase the percent of submissions. Lets hope the upcoming days get more active for directory owners.
