the site: command seems off lately?

    normally when i do site:mydomain.com it used to go up every few days, lately im stuck at 501,000 results for the past 2 months, but in webmaster tools it shows 776k and keeps going up every few days, so does traffic.... i guess somethings broke at google

    I also see less URLs when searching via site: operator compared to what I see in google webmaster tools. I guess site: operator do not show all the indexed pages.
