U want your site to be listed :D?
Well I am gonna give u now the SECRET that will make the difference between accepted or rejected ...
Have a look at the title of all the sites listed in DMOZ for a few minutes before to read what is next and look for this little detail that is common to all listings (go look now and come back here read the rest if you didn t find)
    ....
    ....
    Did you notice that ?
EVERY FIRST LETTER OF EVERY WORD OF THE TITLE IS A .... CAPITAL LETTER !!!
If you follow these rules, you will normally be accepted :

1- Choose the right category (90% of the rejected sites are rejected because not submitted in the correct category) - There are thousands of categories so take your time to find the right one.

2- Write a short, NON-COMMERCIAL description that will resume the site's goal without promoting its content.

3- Capital letter for every word of the title that has to be composed of words contained in your URL ( ex : if your site's address is www.submit-url-add.com then the correct title will be Submit Url Add - IF YOU TRY ANYTHING ELSE, YOUR SITE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ;)

4 - NEVER RE-SUBMIT your site after that and wait ages that one of the editors finally validate your submission (usually takes between 3 weeks and a few month :()

I hope those tips will get your site accepted ...

I always do all the steps even without knowing them, but it is good to have them on "paper". Thanks

So if you resubmit you will kill the chances of your first submission?

    Dmoz is for pussies!
Do you want to know why DMOZ is not accepting sites anymore? Because in the TOS is written very clearly "You should submit a unique website with a unique idea, websites that have been done before will not be accepted" or something like that.
The main idea is that you're wasting your time with dmoz submisions, unless you have done a new kind of website that has not been made before!

I am really upset about this subject. You spend long time to have a nice idea about an article you spend lot of time on editing an article, you wait 7 days, and when the profitable part comes finaly, the webmaster decides that you have a "general problem" your idea has already have been published. About the re-submit thing, stay cool never ever try this you will lose more then 2 weeks as "jmegvil" says. So chose wisely your title and your subject !

Good pointers, Dmoz has become slower and slower with time. I wish that they had a tracking interface which could have shown the status of your request (pending, reviewed, accepted, rejected).
