    Hey,

A very nice project which combines over 300+ ad networks for better ad solutions.

Some more info about it here

    Anyone a Beta Tester?
I am and currently quite happy with it..

I'm currently testing it out, but I'm on my *vacation month.* I haven't really paid attention to my stats, but for some reason I'm not all that impressed. I'm giving it time to optimize, so when January comes I'll take a look at everything as a whole. I've added it on sites I can afford to lose money on, so I'm not all that worried.

I will be doing a blog feature on Rubicon. Ins and outs, pros and cons, screenshots, and such. Waiting on a blog redesign though :). Reading what you wrote right now...!

Thats good. That was just the introduction for people who did not know about it. After the launch I will be making a similar detailed post. :) Good to know that people want to try out and venture into new things.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but have you guys got to the point where you could give some decent review of your experience with RubiconProject? I have signed up and wondering if I should really start using them only to find them not live up to all the hype they have put up on their homepage.

They aren't bad but aren't great. I stuck to AdSense... even though Google is a Rubicon partner.

I'm making something from them daily (not much... I think under a dollar a day) from some site I have on my server... not even sure which site it is so I can't take the ads down. Don't have the patience to search either.

I am back to adsense. These guys are in Beta since like ages and I can't even choose different colors for different ads which limits my advertisement usage to one website.

Happy AdSense for now. Hopefully there will be some changes in the project soon. Got paid $100 at PayPal through Rubicon though.

I am primarily interested in running only CPM network ads through them. Google Adsense would be served separately. Looks like you didn't run CPM (Display ads) with them? You ran pretty much text ads?

I have been useing them and they are very good they have a very smart computer that will optimize your traffic and will give you ad that work on your website and like god will charge a 10% fee on all managed inventory
in other words the ad networks that you've brought to us and any networks we introduce to your site.

    Try they today.http://rubiconproject.com/

Has anybody had good success with rubiconproject.com? I have been running it for a while on one site and it has performed poorly, not up to Adsense eCPM.

Per my experience, Rubicon is good if you don't have time to optimize several ad networks yourself and you have tons of traffic meaning you get more than 10Million impressions per month. But if you can optimize the network yourself, you better off using something like DMX and others. For people with low traffic, its just not worth giving Rubicon 10% of what you earn.

From what I have seen they will mix in Adsense with a bunch of others that are worthless. Adsense alone works much better for me so far but I love the concept.

Rubicon was an unmitigated disaster for me. I had been using a mix of contextual ads (via adsense) and a mix of CPM adverts (via DMX) and decided that the idea of Rubicon sounded good and I was willing to give it a shot.

One week after signing up my non adsense eCPM had plummeted to .01 (from around an average of .12 with DMX) and the exact same advertisers were paying me staggeringly less for the same ad locations. For instance, I averaged .13 eCPM with CPX Interactive previously and with Rubicon they were paying .007 cents per thousand impressions (No, the extra zero is not a typo.) Even worse, I started out with 25 different advertisers competing for my ad space and over a period of 3 days that had dropped to 5 (with 3 of those only serving non-north American traffic which makes up less than 8% of my take and another being electronics CPC) In other words, Rubicon for me was just CPX at pennies on the dollar.

When I emailed Rubicon to ask why the ship was sinking I was told:

For some Publishers (usually sites less than 400,000 daily impressions), Contextual Networks (where you’re able to customize the appearance of the ads on your site) work best.

So basically, they told me my measly 32,000 impressions a day are not something that can be monetized via their network...
