these books are for complete newbies, not for those who have some experience and managed to get at least the first check from adsense.. so it depends..

Except that I honestly believe that The Rich Jerk would send a newbie down the wrong path -- i.e. one that would not make the newbie money!

You're probably much more web savvy than the person his pitch is intended for. However, he obviously motivated you to buy the book. That's why his sales pitch is well worth studying. Here's a guy who got you to say, "I know this is marketing BS, but I've got to check it out anyway." Just superb motivational writing that can serve as a model for others who want to market information/idea type things. I'm not buying the book, BTW.

That website is a damn fake. All earnings screenshots are made in Photoshop. For instance, PayPal's withdrawal history looks totally different. Don't let that cheap website to deceive you.

I'm a complete newbie at this adsense and ppc advertizing(joined adsense last night),but it seems to me after finding and reading this forum that my normal business model works just as well here as anywhere.Don't spend money you don't have to ,and often you will get better resources and advice then you would ever have got by spending the money on consultancy (in book form or in person!)
There are literally hundreds of pages of advice here and on other forums and it takes as long to find and read in a book as it does in a properly organised forum soI'll stick here thanks.

    Cheers Pete

Here's some advise - NEVER BUY THIS STUFF!!!! If you've seen one you've seen them all - trust me! I used to buy them.... They are all self help manuals with instructions on how to make it big....but after you buy it and read it....nothing happens, because all you do is buy it. More often then not, everything in the book you already new.

as said before, forums like these with helpful members seem to have even more information than those rubbish e-books.

"Get Rich Online" e-books like Rich Jerk always remind me of that old joke about "Learn How To Make Great Money From Premium Rate Phone Lines - Just Call 0898 XXX XXXX" i.e. the person selling the e-book is the one who will be the real one making the money from it, not necessarily the people who buy and follow it's advice.

This reminds when back in the age before www, I bought one of those $40 books (more like booklets) on how to get rich.

What can I say I was young and stupid then.

Back then the marketing was made through direct-mail, and the letter sounded very much like Rich Jerk's page did.

The book(let) was about 40 pages long and described 7 types of businesses you could start: pizza place was one, selling insurance was another, lol.

Basically it was obvious general information with not much value.

Rich Jerk book seems a little bit different (if the reviews are correct), while it might give some specific good information, it also gives some horrible advice (advising cloaking?? just ask BMW.de ), plus the affiliate links seems a bad omen too.

Overall seems like a bad value at $149 or whatever, if it was sold as a regular book in a store at $15 or something then it might be ok.

Whether you love or hate the Rich Jerk, or if you are just brutally jealous like a couple of the posters, make sure you KEEP TALKING ABOUT IT ;)

In the meantime, check out pics from the upcoming Rich Jerk infomercial at http://www.therichjerk.com/blog

You won't believe what other things RJ is going to be involved in soon.......

A freind passed me the this thin 45 page ebook a few days ago. 6 chapters. I read most of it on 'the john'. I found nothing insightful, special, or groundbreaking that I had not already learned reading online. No surprises there.

If you learn anything from the RJ it is the way he went about marketing his wares. Therein lies the insight. I would bet the RJ was likely a 'doing moderately well jerk' before he pulled off his home-run.

I also printed out the ebook and read it on "the john". This was convenient, because I used it to wipe my ass.

Yes. I did...when it was $97....mainly out of curiousity after reading his sales letter. Not a good book for a newbie. You have to have a little experince under your belt. I picked up two thinks that helped me a lot....and feel it was worth what I paid since these two tips have paid for the book many times over.
