Don't confuse SEO with making money. Having a website with a high PR is not a prerequesite to making money online. It's all about targeted traffic. Also, I don't think that The Rich Jerk has anything in it dealing specifically with SEO, not from what I remember of Andrew Bourland's review.
Eric, I just looked back at the RJ book and his third chapter is called "Search Engine Optimization Strategies". It includes an overview of ways to get incoming links, adding content and a few miscellansous 'strategies'.
Ah, I stand corrected. Looking at TheRichJerk.com, though, I see that most of the pages there actually have decent PR. It's only the home page that has no PR. Perhaps that page garnered too many incoming links too quickly and got booted out from the index because of it. BTW, the most interesting part of the site to me is the affiliates page which recommends the series of steps to take to make money from its affiliate program, which of course can be used with any program, especially those promoting ClickBank products. The Dark Side is calling... no... must resist... Join me, and together we shall rule the galaxy... Nooooo!!!...
Whats the Dark Side Eric? Affiliate programs? I notice some body put their affiliate link to the Rich Jerk on The Million Dollar Homepage
No, I wasn't referring to affiliate programs (I use them myself), just the steps he says to take: write a review, then submit it to article directories, wrap a blog around it, send out press releases about it... he makes it sound so simple. Maybe I'll go try it and report back on how well it works! I suspect the challenge with promoting affiliate-sold stuff is making your promotional material stand out from everyone else's.
well, i dint bought it, but i got it from somewhere yesterday night and must say it contains nothing more than whatever is written here at DP.
All of these books tell you the same things, imo the most important way to make money the way they are telling you to do it is to find niche markets, that's the hardest part.
hehe yeah..everybody knows that, but not many believe that...u have to read it to say its good or bad..or the info in the book is available here..especially newbies like me dont believe in that
Uhm... I can't read Just kiddin but I never liked reading books, I rather work by trial and error if I can that is how I learn.... Also I always have a hard time finding books for my level, Im not a complete noob or an expert so Im pretty much stuck cause it seems noody really targets the guy that is in between every book is either a completely dumbed out or just expert's jibberish, so I just try and fail until I make it work, but ofcourse I only do this with projects that havent gone live yet or on a beta. subdomain if anything needs to fixed on a mainpage I get an expert and then I review his changes so I can learn... I beleive that is the only way to learn, those ebooks are just garbage, when you read you are basically sifting through about 50 pages of completely fluff to get to an idea that can be summarized in a sentence... The only tool any body ever needs is the internet, I bet you that everything that is in the Rich Jerk and probably more can be found thrugh Google search or on blogs like JenSense, no need to spent money on information when the largest compiling of it is free...lazy doesnt cut it anywhere
Te prblems with eboks are those not jsut selling you info, but a lifestyle of wealth and such. See its not the actual info you want but its the 'get rich' lifestlyle accocieted with it. Unfortunatley most fail in this regard but atleast they still get the information for whatever its worth.
I published conventional printed books for 20 years and have a good idea of how that system of writing, production, distribution and marketing works. When ebooks came along I thought, great, a way to buy books for a fraction of the cost of print production. Especially given the reduced printing and distribution costs. What happened, instead, was a rash of ebooks that cost heaps more than a printed product. Marketing hype aside, what distinguishes these books from the printed product is not content, but format. And a not very useful format at that! Try curling up reading a buch of printed pages on a sofa as compared to reading a properly printed and bound book. So, I am wary of buying over-priced, over-hyped ebooks that you can't even pick up and browse through before purchasing. This forum is a great place to get reviews of those products, however, with Rich Jerk, I don't see him appearing to defend his book as I'm sure Eric Gigueye, a regular poster, would do if his work was being trashed online. So, let the buyer beware would sum things up with ebooks.
If anyone wants "The Rich Jerk" fire up the 'ol P2P Program, eg. Limewire, Warez, etc. It's all over there. There are some nice idea's behind it, and obviously I am a new member here, but making a pretty good income on adsense. I bought 155 Google Adsense Sites for under $10, and these websites are now were averaging in the XX a day, instead of pennies, or dollars a day.
yep exactly, i got a few more books from limewire cool man, i bought around 40 sites for 40$, and im not even making $0.01 from any of the sites what tricks have u used?
Put those some of those 40 for $40 sites out in the format that you bought them (as per the seller's instructions) and you'll make $0. But spend some time turning them into original sites with some original content, proper meta tiles, using the latest SEO techniques, etc and you'll have a chance of earning some Adsense bucks.
Right. You need to use metadata and uniquw tites and perhaps RSS feeds as well. Better yet write your own content but this takes more time.
Great post by fryman. The ones who write ebooks don't write them complete... because if they leave some information out you will have to buy their next book too Whereas here all the information is free and you learn it all with hard work and mistakes... not served on a silver platter (nothing on life is like this if you didnt get it yet) Anyways it all comes down to you as a person, its your money, your time, your choice.
