Hi fellow webmasters, I just had a revelation I want to share. I visit this forum every day and read the messages posted specifically in this section. I am seeing webmasters are not evolving their SEO techniques. I used to remember how SEO was about 6 to 7 years ago. It was easier to cheat, it was easier to rank crappy sites using unethical techniques. Nowadays, the scenario has changed, search spiders are stopping being "robots" and they are becoming more "humans". It is a fact that the king of the Seach Spiders, the Googlebot, no longer sees a page as plain text, it sees a page as a human would do, and they are training it to act as a human will react for each site. The Googlebot it is still a child learning which pages likes and which not. So the old tricks of keyword stuffing, spammy links are not longer working. Googlebot is becoming more efficient every day. They want it to see a website as you see it by using your eyes and not as a bunch of code. It is a fact that old SEO techniques are not working so, how should I promote my website? First off, take a look to your site. Do you like it? Think as a random visitor. Does the random visitor would like it? Are you providing valuable content if not take the time to make it worth otherwise you are waisting your time. I performed many tests this last year and just worked for a short period, what really worked giving something that worths. Old link building methods are worthless too Should spam a bunch of blogs and forums? How does the Gbot will see my link? or better, how does my link looks in that page? Would a visitor follow it? Spam links are worthless waiste of time, no visitor would click that spammy link therefore the Gbot will ignore it too. Remeber it is not longer a bot. Moreover, it is important where to put that link. Is your link placed in a useful page? It is a fact since this "panda" update came into scenario many websites were lost in the deeps of Google's index. Nevertheless, I am proud that I am seeing most relevant results, I get disapointed less often when I search for something. And since I have always followed the rules of "My Visitors comes first than any machine" my sites suddenly emerge from the deeps to get important spots in search rankings and they will stay there for a long time. Just my thoughts. What do you think about it?
