The return of the serps (for now)

After a miserable month of HORRBILE google stats, my site has seemed to rebound in an awesome way today. Since 4:00PM est, my google stats have been through the roof.

For the last month, I have lost over 80% of google traffic. Usually they send me over 3k a day, but during the slowdown it has dropped to the low hundreds.

The only thing I could attribute to the slow month is a fats/hard link building campaign. Seems like right after I gained a large # of links, serps fell.

Just hope it stays this way.. Has anyone else noticed a google serp change today?

 

Congrats!!! One of my sites is still suffering, it's been over one month now Did you change anything appart from the link building?

 

I can't think of anything else that would have caused the drop besides links (including a few paid links).

About 2-3 weeks ago I cleaned out all my outbound links that have no relevancy to my site, cancelled some swaps, and pulled my paid links out.

I also changed the internal linking structure on my site back to how it was a few months ago just incase it was perceived to be keyword stuffing.

Profits dropped so much from the loss of google that I had to let my news publisher go, and cut my paid writers work load in half to beable to break even with my dedicated server and site expenses. If google traffic stabilizes at this point, I will build by team back up.

I am not sure of the exact reasons for the drop, but sofar I think it was from a combonation of things that came down the pike at the same time. Google's decreased value on link trades, paid links, googles alog change to include images and news, and my own link building campaign. Since I could not pinpoint it, I decided to change anything and everything that could be the problem.

Thanks! I see you did well to return to the way your site looked before. I am sure it will stay on top now. We have to be really careful in changing anything these days as google is watching

I lost all my rankings about a week ago. It went from the first page to nowhere. And I just checked a few minutes ago & they're all back.

 

Gone again as of 1:00AM EST... That was a short lived thrill. Very dissapointed

 

Yup I was back and now Gone again also, very frustrating, they are definitely tweaking the algo. I have been coming and going this past week after a few months of a complete drop from Google.

 

There has been a small update in the SERPs, lets see how it turns out and whether or not it remains this way.

Same here. I was back for two days and then it was gone again.
