The Reason Why You Make No Money Online.

I recently interviewed 20 people, and 90% of the people made the following statements.

    1. How do you find new websites?
answer: I use a search engine
    2. When you finish reading the content do you click on adsense ads or banners?
    answer: never, I hate ads
    3. Do you favorite or share the link with friends or family?
    answer: I rarely do
    4. Do you ever come back to these sites?
answer: no, when I need something else I simply use a search engine again.

So this is the reason why it is very very hard to make money online, you produce the content, people consume the content and they do not convert into anything.

Making money online sucks, it takes a lot of hard work, time and money and only a very small percentage of website owners make good money.

I think that it is time to start new, more profitable business ideas.

So 20 people represents every user that is online in the world? I think not. You would need to interview thousands of people to be more conclusive.
Anyway if the answers you have given were actual fact, then no-one would make money online - but people do ;)

Not sure the 20 people you asked, but I think you need to ask some more lol!

However, as long as you are providing great content, you can earn money since people nowaday is smart enough to judge on it.

    1) Google (high percentage i'd guess)
    2) Most people use the search engines to solve a particular problem. Let's say they are looking for a cooking recipe and on the page they reach, they don't find enough information or perhaps they would like more on the subject. In this case, well placed targetted ads will provide these solutions and i'd guess many would decide to click on the ad to be directed.
    3) Again, the visitor finds a recipe that they like. They see that the site has a great variety of other recipes and so they bookmark the site or remember it atleast for future usage.
    4) Same as (3)

20 people is not enough people to conduct an accurate survey, if you had 2000 then maybe that would be better stats to go off. Also, 20 people may be friends/ students etc. Try targetting all age groups, different demographics etc!

There are many people earning xxxxxxxx amount through Google Adsense, it is possible, but takes years of work and tons of traffic and so on. I think people may be reluctant to use affiliate links perhaps these days, but Adsense aint quite the same, it delivers useful information/ links to the web user.

I agree with some of these comments....20 people is not enough to reach a conclusion. You have to make sure your ads are targeted and your content is relevant. Cheer up! you have to try and try until you find the right formula! good luck!

If you put good content on your site people will favorite it and come back. Not only that, with good content you could end up on page one of Google and get visitors that way. It might take time and a lot of work to get steady traffic but you have to do it. After you have got the traffic the next step is to figure out how to convert that traffic into money. Traffic + Conversions = $$$

That's why search engine ranking is very important. It doesn't matter if the person does not come back because as long as you rank well, there will still be fresh and new visitors flowing in. And did I mention, not everyone can have the same web surfing behavior like the 20 people you have mentioned.

I bet the people you interviewed are webmasters/domainers... which would obviously make sense. I have some sites with steady 5-10% CTR, which means people are clicking.

    I disagree!
Making Money online is so easy now a days.

    1. Focus on your product (Content) - Is it useful to your visitors
    2. Use multiple opportunities.
    3. Learn the tricks of generating traffic

Money will follow! To confirm the fact, I told a kid in my neighbour about making money online (13 years of age), he followed the things and is making around $80 per month in just 3 months. (Adsense + Other opportunities). He didn't pay a single rupee for any ebook, he uses free blogspot and googlepages for his site.
