The community is a sheer waste of one's time, because these fanboys are an absolute joke. They probably never even played any of the pre-RE4 titles at all. In fact, I would be willing to bet money on it.

Sheep come online and ask Capcom to do more pointless remakes, which are actually more so reimaginings. So much gets cut that was in the originals, yet they persist and badger Crapcom to churn out more half-baked slop anyway.

The trouble is, action fans say RE4 is the GOAT of all things RE related, so this is the demographic for RE today. This game single-handedly killed not only RE, but the survival horror genre was never the same after this overrated piece of trash came out in 2005.

Now, I do think RE4 is a rather cool game in its own right, provided we don't view it in the same light as RE1, 2, 3 and so on. However, this was clearly the beginning of survival horror being primarily an action based genre, with only a handful of subtle scary moments. Really, RE4, 5 and 6 and all that pish are action games with messy, confusing plotholes.

The problem is that all the main heroes are super juiced up now, because they got captured and experimented on by different villains, so these viruses are in their bloodstream. This means they act so tough and maintain looking young. But this has kind of helped to ruin the horror vibes. They are as overpowered as all hell, make a lot of cheesy jokes, and do martial arts moves on the enemies.

Leon. Chris. Jill. Etc. It doesn't matter. They are all too beefed up now.

Of course, the plot is just incredibly dumb as well. They even added a vampire type mistress into RE8, which was also massively copying the assets of RE4, which I cannot stand. Because RE4 has dumb gimmicky trash like the ability to buy rocket launchers from a vendor, parry a chainsaw with a flimsy combat knife in its remake, look for treasure, and whatnot. This just makes the experience a doddle.

Not to mention the lack of zombies, because zombies were once the staple of the series. RE4 onwards barely feel like true RE games, quite frankly. And Capcom is carrot dangling. They say Umbrella is coming back, yet they fail to actually show a damn thing to back up this claim. It's all just talk and hype to keep people invested in this crappy direction.

The amount of garbage about Raccoon City bothers me too. They keep revisiting 1998 and this is in spite of the fact that Raccoon City was nuked in RE3, a game from 1999. But okay. Just do a lame Netflix show about it or whatever, where Albert Wesker is now black. Or Leon is Indian.

It is just sad to see the RE franchise being degraded like this.
