Imus got fired/crucified because he quit/refused to tow the company line anymore. You can't ask your own questions, you have to ask the stock questions fed to you from big bro. I don't even like the guy and I can see that clearly.
Matthews said he was against this war from the begining. Well, there are some interesting quotes from him here: http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=2842 It's not that big of a deal, since it seems like a lot of people were deceived, but it may point out the difference between him and Imus. I.e., Imus probably believes what he is saying and not just going with the prevailing winds.
so the point at which you were against it influences whether you get fired or not. interesting concept.
I think it's more a matter of sincerity. Here's more on Matthews: http://mediamatters.org/items/200609210010
he is out of job at the moment for whatever reason he got himself fired. I am sure he will land a big contract soon.
He was fired because it became more profitable to do so. Most of America has realized the war was a mistake, I think we are past that stage now.
I was sticking with XM to actually stay away from people like Stern, now XM and Sirius may join up....yeah...I can probably look forward to listening to Imus now...and his stupid jokes.
