Here is what I do for getting links from blog comments. They are three ways for achieving this. The bad way, the not so good way, and the good way. Bad way. Scrap hundreds of blogs from SERPS that follow links. Do not read the blog posts, and comment something. Use your keywords in the name field. Repeat the same process on other blogs. Not so good way Scrap hundreds of blogs of your niche. Find a post related to a keyword you want to achieve. Here is the trick, DO NOT USE your keywords in the name field. Use your real name. Instead of using your target website, put a profile link or personal blog in the URL field. READ THE TARGET BLOG POST. Make a contribution on the host blog by adding a real comment about what the blogger wrote. At the end of the comment, suggest to read a post from your target blog who related is to the host blog post. Place the link using HTML on the comment area, and use as anchor text a descriptive text. Of course place your keywords but make it look natural. For example, if your are looking to target "cheap insurance service" use an anchor text like this "How hiring a cheap insurance service may benefit your family". Another trick is finding keywordluv blogs, put your name in the name field, put your target URL in the URL field, but you have to modify your RSS feed to target your desired post and keyword. Same strategy, make a contribution on the host blog. Good way Find blogs related to your niche, make a contribution by posting a real comment. Use your real name and personal blog URL(profile link is good too). DO NOT your target link on the comment area. Keep commenting until the blogger spot you as valuable visitor. Once you initiated a good relation with the blogger, start doing the real deal. Send a message by mail to the blogger discussing a post of his/her blog and suggesting him to read one from yours. If he/she liked your site you may be lucky to get a one way link from him, if not, you may suggest posting a guest post, making an article exchange or just a link exchange. In this case you will be 99.9999% successful to get a good link. NOTE: This strategy works with non popular blogs.
Great info! It's easy to get into the mindset that quantity is better than quality. But quality posts almost always leads to better traffic and, possibly, relationships with other bloggers.
I hate to say this out loud, but in the past, the highest level of jink juice that I received came from blog comments. Personally, I think blog commenting is effective, but I only use my name and blog as the name and URL info. By doing so, I have a much higher comment approval rate. You don't rank for keywords this way, but you get a link and that is better than no link.
Personally, I prefer your not so good way. The problem with your "good way" is that it will take an aweful lot of time and effort, and you may not even get a link. And even if you do, as you said it works with non popular blogs, so the link won't have that much value.
Blog commenting worth only when the link is in the comment area and for low competitive keywords. That is one point I have tested.
Yeah Akismet blocks a lot of keywords now too. The best way to blog comment is usuing your real name.
Blog comments do work, but with many using xrumer blog admins have their spam sensors on high alert. A real post on a high pr page is worth doing it by hand.
Good tip on the last one. I've found that leaving a good comment actually gets people to click on your link and visit your site. I did this last week and managed to get more than 40 visitors to a blog post in 2 days. And the traffic is still coming in. Today I got about 15 visitors from the same comment.
This has been a very significant post indeed. I’ve acquired a lot of helpful information from your post. Thank you for sharing such relevant topic with us.
