Ok guys I just want to share with you a real competitor to google which was recently in news. It is called Wolfram Alpha. Its is a search engine (Not really) hat provides accurate results to your queries and a whole new manner read the full story here
Interesting when I typed the keywords make money free all I got back was wolfram doesn't know what to do with the input. I am guessing they will need alot more work if they are going to beat the big G. Really the only search engine with the amount of money to do the research necessary to beat google would be msn.
The day "Wolfram Alpha" kills google is the day I'll drink my own pee. There is no such thing as a google killer; google will be king forever, why? because everyday google invests a ton of money into its' future. Very few companies make those long-term investments, but google is always on the dot with them. As time goes on, you'll see google have their own 'semi' operating system, with essentially everything you want in one browser. They have started this with Google Chrome, from applications to search - google will have it all in one place. Their phone platform has been doing fairly well, but it's just a start. http://www.android.com
i see this site, i don't think this can beat google, even cuil is also not able to beat google, adsense and adwords is power of google, in this area yahoo and msn are also not able to do as it, cuil and Wolfram Alpha are trying and need to work more technically, for it, they need appx. 5 to 6 years of time, till google will be more ahead from it. Now it's not possible for any one to beat google.
With Google's vision, marketing strategy, making more and better services, being user-friendly, etc., it will take years and miles for those trying to beat Google just to like Google 3 or five years ago.
No body can say anything. But all I can say is Google will be more cautious now. They will want to improve their services. Without competition wouldn't it be just boring.
Wolfram Alpha is a knowledge-based search engine, they need to do alot of works to compete with Google. I real like the search result of Wolfram Alpha...
ya they would need to do a lot of work. maybe if google improves their i feel lucky button, it would end up killing Wolfram Alpha once and for all.
They are different type. Wolfram alpha is more like wikipedia search engine, they are providing formal answer (one answer). However, google search is provide you tons of information, for the research, google helps much
It's not a google-style search engine, and doesn't claim to be. You won't use it for the same things you use google for, and it's ridiculous to tout it as a 'google killer' - it's not trying to do the same thing. In fact Google IS about to launch a product that does something similar, in terms of aggregating information from around the web - Google Squared - http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/05/1...gle-will-crush-wolfram-alpha-exclusive-video/
there is no such thing as forever, EVERY empire falls eventually. I dont think Wolfram Alpha will be the one though
How is that related to Google? That search engine just using lot of API's and giving fast answers, I bet they are using also Google API LOL
my first five attempts to use wolfram failed. it says he doesnt have enough data about the terms i searched.
