darkdrgn2k, two errors on your blog post - Comodore 64 was a computer and it's operating system was called BASIC; and Vista is way better than XP :p

I completely disagree with this list. I prefer using Linux ( Kubuntu ) over Windows, but I do think Windows is the best operating system you can get. For one, there is much, much more support for programs and flexibility than any other OS. Much more flexible than a OSX, much more flexible than Ubuntu / etc.

Really, if the OS was that bad it wouldn't be the most popular and most commonly used operating system. Don't even say people just don't know about Linux either, because Linux is just the complete opposite of user friendly. It is good for those who are familiar with Linux and more technical savvy users.

Mac, they are just overly expensive machines. I've tried constantly to like them, and use one everytime I go over to my best buds, but I just do not like it. It does have some nice features, and might suit the designer / video editor better but it just still doesn't have the flexibility and support that Windows does.

I just wish for once when people do the Windows bashing they would compare other OS' faults the way they do with Windows. Everyone claims Linux to be stable, but I honestly run into more errors / freezing with it than I have with Vista so far, and probably even XP ( only blue screen I've ever seen on Vista was due to a memory issue in a custom built PC ).

I have no complaints about XP, I think XP was pretty awesome. I don't like Vista's sluggish performance and high system requirements, and I do not like how little they innovated on Vista from XP. But if you look at the evolution of many operating systems, they have all been like this.

I build a new PC every year with all the latest hardware and I upgrade to the newest version of Windows via a fresh install, I never had any problems with any version.

I’m currently using Vista 64 and my PC runs very well indeed.

    Thanks Brian

most people that complain about vista fall into two categories:

    a) have a system that should not be running vista due to specs
    or
    b) hear from friends that fall into category a and run with it.

If you just meet the minimum system requirements its going to run like crap. Thats true for any OS or application.

My system is just an e8400, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, and a hd4850. I run vista 32 flawlessly.

As far as WM6, its ehhh but better than WM5 and WM6.1 isn't too bad. BB os is leaps a bounds better than either.

    just my $.02

I agree man Microsoft can be very weird at making improvements.

Its actually funny as everyone complains but still uses it.

I think the company has only been successful at it's marketing strategies in which forces other companies out of the game which is why it is still sitting at the Throne.

Can you Imagine an OS like ubuntu or even a Mac OS x having the wide variety of software being developed for it by every software company out there like Microsoft has?

Can you imagine what would happen to Windows? i'd scrape it instantly.
