I greet you, gentlemen! My question is this - as you can see all the backlinks that lead to any site via a search string google? whether there is such a possibility? Very want competitors to analyse p.s. Yahoo has shown too few backlinks ... tnx 4 all
I dont think there is, could be wrong, but its well known that google doesn't make it easy to see all backlinks through the search engine.
Google say they will show a sample of links, or alternatively, all sites that mention your site url whether it's a link or not http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=55281&hl=en To find a sampling of pages that link to a URL (for example, www.stanford.edu), go to the Google Advanced Search page at http://www.google.com/advanced_search and enter the URL in question into the "Links" search box. Alternatively, you can perform a link search directly from the Google search box by typing [ link:Stanford.edu ] or [ link:www.Stanford.edu ]. There should be no space between "link:" and the URL. To obtain a comprehensive list of sites that point to a page, perform a Google search on the URL. From the search results page, select the "Find web pages that contain the term" link, and Google will provide you with webpages that mention that address. Note that in this case, Google will return all pages that mention this URL, not just those that link to it.
Google will not display all the backlinks to a webpage. To know the total number of links of any url, use yahoo site explorer.
Ok, yeah there is an opportunity to see your backlinks in google and sometimes google will show all the back links you are getting to your website by Domaintools.com and by typing your website in google like this Site: www.and your website, you will get all the results.
So when you say that google shows a "selection" of links from the link:www command. is that the difference between that command and the "pages with external links" section in google webmaster tools. for example using link on one of my domains shows 4 results but i see 80+ in webmaster tools. Im just interested if there is a difference in relevance to the 2 sets of link results
