Hey ya Digital Point members, :).

It would be simple for me to say Pure SE is a new version of Taken Search is out today, renamed and restyled to suit your needs, but what was taken search? Pure SE is a Meta Search engine that does not just steal results from other search engines but instead has its own spider to filter OUT results such as backdoor pages and spy ware sites, thus making your search safer, quicker and pleasant.

It looks like a real winner, how are you involved in this search engine, are you one of the programmers behind it

Welcome to the forum, I hope you can tell us more, if you can I will list you on these pages.

It a one man project, im the one man. And thank you. I have tryied to basicly let all the big engines do all the effot (crawling) and my robot decides (based on a certain content factor such as activeX from spyven) if it should be added.

I work many hours to filter out the results that are backdoor pages. I spend my own money on this project so it does take some time :)

Fantastic, I am sure the members here have a lot of questions for you and will put you on the hot seat today :p

Good to have you around, one thing I think you should look at is changing the font, I think you could make a better selection and maybe some of the designers here will help with that.

We have some good one's here that will offer help to you

Thanks, im sure you have some great designers. If any wish to surgest a font, im open to your views. I don't want this to be "Here is the engine, like it or don't use it', I want peoples views to change it.

I am talking about the font selection, not the layout of the page

Your page right now is filling the entire screen with text from left to right and needs to be formatted correctly so users can read it with more ease or they will not click on anything.

How many sites are in the index?

Also, for the actual results pages, I would personally use verdana (Comic Sans MS is soooo 1995 ;))

The results don't look bad though, although the pages load quite slow
Oh... You also need to have a link back to the index pge of the site from the search results pages...

    Nice work though... :)

He mentioned it is a meta engine SE, so he does not really have his own index as he is pulling results from others databases.

Soapbath, you say you are developing a browser, that is quite a difficult task, can you explain

    Thanks SEBasic.

Have you looked at the open source search engine platform:

    www.nutch.org

Why not work with them on building an engine as others are

    [Sorry, still playing]

The "More" Button isn't working for me...

    And one last thing...
Is it possible to make the results fit in a screen resolution of 800x600.
At the moment I have to scroll left and right or resize my browser...

They are not working around the same grounds as me, www.nutch.com (which is a very good OSE) want to use the idea of get as many results as they can, Pure SE lets others do that and then only show the results that matter!

    soapbath,

Very nice, from what I can tell. For the hell of it I checked to see if my site was listed, was shocked to see I was. I have dropped a bookmark, I see myself using this engine.

Again Great SE, and Good luck on it success.
