CGI proxies are very CPU and RAM intensive, most proxy hosting companies don't allow them. Unless you have a well modded CGI script that integrates with php? I have heard of such a modified CGI script before that greatly reduces the intensive usage of cpu and ram. I would gladly offer to buy to use it if anyone has such a script.
I had to switch hosting for my proxies (now on VPSNoc) and during the transition I faced several days of downtime. Now that my sites are back up, they're loading much slower, and traffic (and therefore adsense) has dropped significantly. What promotional methods have been working for you guys? I'd love to make some moves here to get these sites going again... Would definitely consider paid promotional services as well.
Besides promotion you should also get the performance issues solved, otherwise you will be wasting money.
Why don't you give ProxyNoid a try and see if it will revive your proxies? If you want and you are interested you can try it for free using the coupon code Time4School. Once you activate your account pm me and i will give you access to the members panel so you can redeem the coupon and make your first submissions
Weird thing as you are the only one who is having this problem. Mind if you tell me the username which you used in order to sign up ? Did you check the junk folder? is it a non free email that you are using and if so did you change the settings at the spam assassin within the cpanel ?
Vahing is right. The moment your proxy goes down for more than a day or faces slow loading speed, chances are your proxy users will stop coming back to your proxy. Why? Cos there are simply tons of proxies out there that's available for them to use..Unless you have a special method to prevent web filters from blocking your proxy so fast, then that would be different. Viral marketing is good, if you can find an email list or newsletter that does not send out more than 2 proxies a week, then I think that would be a good list to buy marketing from but of cause such lists are not common and would cost more to advertise in. But the results would normally be much better than those lists that are spammed daily.
Yep. I've experienced a 90% loss of traffic due a down time of 1 day .. So make sure you pick a reliable host!
Visitors are not loyal, 1 days downtime literally kills traffic. It will take a while to build it back up again. Also if any proxy owners want a free backlink act quickly.
Ah yes, of course. That downtime was with www.cmodz-hosting.com However, I used their cheapest package so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the downtime. Besides that, it also has been a while ago since I've used their host so I'm not saying they are a bad hosting company! They might have been improved since then too.
LOL... its normal eheheh someone that offer you 200gb of band for only 3$ is someone that has a server with unmetered 5mbits and with only 30 sites that work in same time collapse all send me your email in PM. I offer you 1 month of free proxy hosting to try one of my server if has a 100% of uptime
I've been with so many hosts now that it's unbelievable, they all end up going down for days at a time or screwing me in some way. I moved to VPSNoc a week or so ago and have been facing ridiculously slow load times, and am currently facing downtime as well, so it looks like it's time to move to yet ANOTHER host. Does anyone have experience with MonsterProx?
Trafficrevenue has issues from time to time, i am not that sure how much accurate it's tracking is as well. Personally i've been using them nearly a year, the support is excellent , the total downtime that i've had during that time is next to nothing at least for me.
