My guess why they don't want people to use e-mail and such is because the proxys attract spammers and scammers from underdeveloped countrys and makes their brand look bad.

Yes there have been many complaints from that spamcop using my IPs on the server of people sending spam.

I have started to ban a lot of countries hoping it will help.

what if the spammer is from the US?

Also I think Im missing something here cause why is spamcop complaining about your specific proxy ip? A spammer can log into their webmail with any of a thousand proxy sites. Doesnt the fault lie in the webmail provider for allowing spammers to use their domain for wrong.

Check out my new proxy guide. It is all the information I know concerning proxies and how I made over $700 profit last month from my proxies. All for free. I am just trying to give something back. Hope it helps you make some bucks.

how do they send large amounts of spam through a proxy? I just got terminated from my vps at IGC hosting for spamming, I actually disabled the smtp server on the vps, they wouldn't believe that it was coming through the web proxy.

They terminated my account just after I renewed it too, keep clear of these turkeys.

    http://proxy.org/forum/1180337930.html

Reading that would lead me to believe you would add this line to your host file.

    0.0.0.0 bellsouth.net cox.net yahoo.com mail.google.com gmail.com hotmail.com msn.com

I say this because bellsouth & cox.net resolve to different ips from the example given at proxy.org. If that doesn't work I would try spliting them up, if you try it let me know how it goes. I would also block Nigeria & Ghana as about 70% of the internet scammers are located there, the UK also has alot of scammers (there Nigerian connection) but I don't think you would wanna block high paying traffic.
Also I would talk to thewierd for hosting, he would have taken care of this for you.

Everywhere i look i only see people talking about phproxy or zelune or surrogafier. Why is there no love for glype proxy ? :D I mean its easy to install no need to change anything to login to myspace. ( Sure some functions are disabled but nothing is perfect)

If thats were Lord Anubis got it sure, but thats not what I meant as I dont use proxy.org and I think this is the first time Ive seen you.

@havoc: theres no need to change anything with phproxy to login to myspace either, the "some functions disabled" part is why I use phproxy as I dont know the mod to enable those options in glype.

Anyone know if we can use Adbrite full page menu on a redirect? I am planning on sending a lot of chinese traffic to a splash page instead of just blocking!

You could see if the domain is on a black list like urlblacklist.com as someone mentioned earlier or a user could email you but In my opinion checking to see if you are blocked is pointless.

First Proxies arent banned. Certain countries, schools, companies may block your domain but you will never be blocked by everyone. Of course if most of your traffic comes from a school in Ohio and that school blocks you, your traffic will drop but that just means you need to do more marketing.

You mean you redirect the chinese traffic to some page full of ads? Yes you can do that, but the ads won't convert (or won't show at all) for these users anyway. You can get a few cents though. :)

Why does it seem that my CGI proxies dont get as much hits as my php proxies?

    www.oracleproxy.com is my php proxy
    and www.diamondproxy.info is my cgi

Or maybe its just because its .com instead of .info?

    Thanks

    Tyler
