The rule is the same as for the other sites - content. But right now, focusing on keywords such as "proxy" and getting good results is almost impossible, because it's too competetive.

Yes, but what bout keywords like "Unblock ANY Site", etc. That woulden't be impossible.

Hmmm, is that good to use that small? I need to do something even though I changed most of my sites I've still used about 40GB today...

Well, it depends what users are browsing for! They wont be able to download mp3s/movies etc. But 200kb is more than enough for most images etc. I didn't notice any drop in traffic or revenue after limiting the file size. The best thing to do is to see how sites that your users visits load. Remember it is per file - so if a page had 10 pictures on at 200kb each, it will still download 2mb of pictures...
Might not sound like a lot I know, but try limiting it on a test site and browse...you probably wont notice much difference as an end user.

Thanks Big Johnny, I went through all and limited to .5mb to give it a try.....now I have to go thru and remove my surrogafier since there is not a way to limit download size.

Now a question...I'm using a combo script that uses both cgi and phproxy, does the cgi use more bandwidth or just more resources???

Sorry for all the questions, I guess there is so much to learn!!!!

Hey Shadey - My understanding (and experience) is that bandwidth is about the same, but that memory usage is much higher with CGI. I haven't used CGI much though (through fear of topping the server!), but am pretty sure it is a resource issue not a bandwidth problem.
Obviously I am not sure how a combi script would work...(sounds interesting btw!).

Why not just ask the question here and let everyone answer?

I have 10 proxy sites up now and I'm having trouble with checking my stats. I'm in cpanel 11 and awstats hasn't updated since last friday, and same with webalizer. However, lastest visitors is still working just fine, so I know I'm getting traffic, just not sure how much. On the other hand, I manage a few other sites with different hosting in cpanel X and the awstats work just fine.

Is anyone else having this problem?

it 'works' in that you would be able to view logs. However, the stats are wrong - it massively over exagerates the numbers of visitors/uniques etc. I think it has something to do with the way that the proxified page is called.

I've actually noticed that for me, awstats actually reports less than what google says.. I'm not sure if it's just me or something
