If you have fast hosting only is not sufficient. You need to have dedicated IP coz many admin already block the shared IP address used by the proxy hosting at the same company. Dedicated IP will be useful soon when you wanna make your proxy hard to block by admin by implement SSL.

its not just about the traffic, what he meant to say was about the differences in adsense earnings if i am not wrong. I am not sure about others but my earnings from proxies and proxy lists have gone down by 80% in the month of april
Yes not only because summer is coming but also the economy, I probably dont have to mention any thing specific here but if you run adbrite and such you know the revenue has probably tanked 80% with the economy. I set up my sister a SSL proxy sometime in march, since they she made $20 or something with Adsense. I guess if you wanted to make a proxy and make a residual income of $100/year then by all means start a proxy.

I suppose what you wrote might help 100% in helping your proxy to remain unblocked from websense but the biggest problem which will always exist is on how to promote? You cannot submit to proxy lists, if you donot use the words such as proxy, unblock, then how would you be able to get SE traffic? The dependance will be always proxy groups. Whereas if you submit to proxy lists and use proxy keyword in domain and on your site and optimize it well for good SERP's you can get 100's of times much better traffic. What you have wrote will work only 1 way if someone has a potential to do, thats word of mouth marketing else the market will always remain limited.Thats just my personal opinion on your post, not to offend you or against anything you wrote
Most of us are in this for more than cents, maybe you are not but it IS a bad time to enter this business. 2 main factors. 1 being timing, i dont know where the 2 months figure comes from but at best I would say 1 month. And with the state of most proxy lists and their relaxed owners approval speed that is not alot of time! Second main factor despite seeing increases in traffic (from useful "converting" countries) people have seen massive decreases in earnings despite consistent outgoings, or in my case increases in outgoings due to expansion (more servers etc). I cancelled a pretty beefy server last week when a $600 domain renewal batch came on top of that server almost costing $300 a month it was time to step back and downsize. The profits I was seeing at xmas just are not there any more, so I find my self almost starting again, and its not looking good for the limited time left. Another factor I feel which might offend some of you, but there are alot more people setting low aims and flooding the market with trash. Look at all the "I need a proxy host for $2 a year" styled posts I do hope this passes before next school term. The only positive note I have is in the last perhaps month dedicated server prices (if you do research) seem to have bottomed out. Some REALLY nice deals out there (and I mean really stupid prices compared to say xmas) if you are able to pull in the traffic.
Easy one to answer 90+% of the US schools get out around June 15th. They stagger through the month for graduation purposes but most are in June. So yeah its roughly 2 months left. Then you will still have some for around 3-4 weeks after that with summer school.
I guess you CAN use words like proxy and all in the index page, but just enable the "encode page" option via glype admin center. and I was wodnering whether it's a good idea to use proxy in the domain name and use ssl, since it will be encrypted then I'm not sure the filters will be able to do much
"encode page" filter encodes the proxified pages mate and websense blocks in accordance with the index page.
nah, it encodes the main page too as far as I can say. I tried it once and saw the souce of the home page, it was encoded
I would not mix business & proxies ! Proxy is a simple website where you put your ads on - where's recession ( as you are not selling anything ) ?
