Hey guys, I've just released SLEEK BLUE, a great blue Glype Proxy template. More Information/Download: http://www.discussproxy.com/thread-117.html Live Demo: http://www.discussproxy.com/themes/sleekblue/
Nice. I guess those type of proxy lists are getting popular, are they better than the ones of which just list the proxies randomly rather than the ones by date submitted? (your proxy list compared to my proxy list)s
Besides Tech-Faq.com, ProxyBuzz has given me more traffic than any other list. Probably because of its great format and ability to resubmit. I love it
I for one think the ones listing by date are the way to go. As a user wants new sites and doesnt want to sift through a list of 800+ sites with 20+% dead to find one that will work. When odds are in there favor a list that displays the date added will be listing new proxy sites at the top of the list making it more user friendly. I know Tech-Faq rocks as one of several my personal proxy list is putting out some very nice numbers. Also this custom sites are more efficient as they have the backlink checks and many other features coded in when they are made. Some might not, I know mine does.
While your intentions in posting this may seem valid to you, posting confidential information about your submitters (email address removed from my quote) is both a breach of your own terms of service and privacy policy but likely in many jurisdictions illegal. Both yourself and any other webmasters should take note that if you deviate from your own publicly posted policies with regards to disclosure of personal information you are opening yourselves up to a huge range of problems, not the least of them being legal recourse from the individual whose details you disclose but also other proxy owners who may now choose not have any further dealings with you if they can't be assured of their own privacy...
Here is a sample of script to check dead proxies / broken backlink. Each batch only checks several proxies (not whole proxies in your proxy list), so execution time would be short. http://dev.xrvel.com/index.php?file=proxy-cron.php.txt Code (markup):
thanks for the code dude some time its better to check the nameservers and detect the known NS of parking companies and remove banning ip , pub-id is a bad idea because few times if we drop the domain and new domain owner may park which we cant control
That's another good idea. clean unresolved domain. clean parked domain. what if the owner set the NS like this : NS 1 & NS 2 : some real hosting NS 3 & NS 4 : parked. We still should check the page content to know what the proxy looks like. clean redirected domain. It seems i am too fond of you
I specifically asked users only submit working proxies and do not manipulate the system. But perhaps I should add into my TOS that any site found manipulating the system, its records will be published to public.
@xrvel...Thanks for the code Can we use it ? If so do you think it will work with the site webevader ? Thanks
Yes, ever since they moved servers. It is now impossible to run decent proxies with this much downtime Are they offering refunds ? Why don't you come over to the WebEvader.org forum and we can discuss this topic more
Again I think you should look in to this very carefully regarding legalities in both the jurisdictions where you live and your websites are hosted. Take this example for instance. - An unknown person uses my email address to post a bunch of 'spam' sites to your list. It's spam so what do they care but you get fed up and start posting the details publicly. - Someone else see's your post and connects the email address to me, which then carries the implication that I must be a spammer. I don't profess to be an expert in such matters but aside from possible privacy issues for you to post the information in the first place you would also be opening yourself up to possible defamation action for making unfounded libelous statements that you can't substantiate. We all run services that are designed by their very nature to help protect peoples privacy and it's exactly this kind of behaviour that makes our entire industry look bad because 1 person has no concern for the implications of their actions.
Sure, you can use it. It will work for most proxy list i guess. Just don't forget to adjust the table name and table column name on the script.
This is something that I will have to look at, but how about premium listings? How would you go by making their listing premium? Only thing I can come up with is to have their proxy always listed at the top and then beneath that would come the free listings that are sorted by date of submission.
Well, what I know is that a week ago they sold several of their clients to other web hosting company.
