i tested some proxies today. they dont show youtube video, what wrong? shoud you allow youtube vids via the proxy ?
I do too. It was a hassle to get my first Glype proxy [v 1.0] set up for YouTube, but now I just have to copy/paste two files to other newer Glype proxy directories.
i'm going into this biz. I dont understand how to host multiple proxy sites on 1 dedicated server? create some virtual host? or just host 1 site, then use something called "alias" or so? it's related to park domain. But I d.ont know any IT .so i dont understand those, can someone link me or explain pls. thanks
If you have a new proxy and you want to promote it check out this thread below. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1186211 submit for free. No backlinks are required unlike most topsites.
This is not a proxy question you should direct it else where. But yes look into virtual hosting for your httpd (apache / lighttpd)
There's no need to buy a dedicated server if you're just starting in the proxy business. Many proxy hosting providers will allow varying amounts of domains to be hosted on one shared package. I run two dedicated servers at the moment and use WebHost Manager to set up all my websites. I run lots of different websites accross the two servers and the functionality is excellent. As I said, you won't need a dedicated server to start with, you can compare proxy hosting plans from different companies at ProxyHost.org. I recommend TMZ Hosting for shared hosting and then WDServers for when you upgrade to a dedicated.
Is it possible that a proxy list gets blacklisted by schools? Does anybody ever seen such thing, or do they just filter the proxies themselves?
I'm working on a new proxy list site and can't come up with a name. I currently own nux.net...and was thinking I could just use that. What do people think of that? Been trying to think of a purpose for that domain that I paid way too much for..lol
Yes, but it doesnt matter as they just put your proxylist name in google and view the cache of the page. Or they write down a couple off the site. No stopping those who want something bd enough
I understand them too. There are cases where proxies needs to be banned so even if I'm a proxy owner I have to admit that. Anyway the world is large enough for everybody.
they only block domain names or can they block a whole server ? so any other proxy from that host wont work?
free proxy hosts are pure illusions; even with the paid ones you can still have problems imagine what happens with free ones, but if you can find a free one go ahead and try yourself
The last college i was in used websense to also block google cache + translate (and pretty much every translate site for that matter) for reference
Yes it is paid, reading the post or even visiting the link he gave would have answered that question. I have to say it is a good source of traffic, maybe even pagerank too if you buy a few months in a row. Even better that you get to choose what price you pay.
