I have a question guys, do you keep your proxies with high Iran traffic?

Most of my new proxies, I have China and Iran blocked. But I have this one old proxy that is mostly composed of Iran's traffic (ranked #343 in Iran for Alexa) somewhat sad, but the site has been pulling about 120 and maybe 150 this month on just Google Adsense alone.

I think this post can be helpful for new proxy webmasters.

    Is Squidoo Helping Proxy Owners?

To answer your question happykadaw, I have blocked Iran traffic because it made my adsense clicks unvaluable. How do you manage to pull $120 from Iran? How much traffic do you get? Could you give a little more detailed report of how you manage to do that? I think most of us would want to know..

The proxy is about 8 months old, I purchased it off someone when it was about two week old for about 40 bucks. As far as promotion goes, the original owner only had it advertised through Google and Yahoo groups, maybe a few top site and I had it free-listed at proxy . org. No promotions has been done the past 7 months as Iran traffic is easy to pick up.

From Google Analytics, I have about 54K UV the last 30 days (65% of the visits are from Iran, and 16% from the US. Alexa says I have 86% users from Iran. My overall Alexa Ranking is at 29.8k.

This month adsense so far is about 49.31 averaging 8 cents per click, with 635 clicks out of 29.7k page impression

I read about many that don't earn with Iran traffic and a few that do...so I have no idea. I really don't keep track of my proxies, unless I get complaints...otherwise it has been paying for a few of my dedicated servers.

I had a closer look and it just seems that my pageviews per user has gone down a lot. My rates are still the same just adversal is picking up a lot less impressions

I have a question about proxies.

Could i create proxies with subdomains? I mean, creating 5 proxies for example:

    proxy1.kuesu.com
    proxy2.kuesu.com
    proxy3.kuesu.com
    proxy4.kuesu.com
    proxy5.kuesu.com

It would much cheaper than buying 5 domains. But, if proxy1.kuesu.com gets filtered by schools for example, all proxy*.kuesu.com too?

Sorry for my english, i hope it's more or less clear what i want to mean.

I'm sure who blocks will block the entire domain so there is no use to do that.
If you want a cheaper alternative try using .info domains.

If kuesu.com is blocked, all proxies based on sub domains of kuesu.com also get blocked.

*IF* you make kuesu.com a legit non proxy website some months before you start the proxies on the subdomains you are in with a strong chance they will slip under the radar for a little while longer than normal, tried and tested because the main site will be whitelisted as such. But the effort to do that is pretty harsh and as i found out not really worth it for the little extra time you get.

You need to get traffic to the sites by means which doesnt include 100 links on the page including the term proxy then it should last longer again.

Remember alot of places auto ban sites which have not been flagged as being a proxy if the term shows up X times on a page.

Also most list owners will not accept subdomains so your options are trying to filter traffic from your other proxies really.

.info domains are sub $3 at namecheap and include a free SSL cert worth some $10 and free whois privacy and they accept paypal (non verified also) the site is clean and fast (unlike godaddys), so i suggest to invest a little its worth it in the long run.

Most proxy list sites and other proxies sites do not accept sub domains and they easily block kuesu.com. Does some 1 else get submissions on his proxy list with Category: 44
    with Category: 45
..... I get lots of crap submissions with that auto thingy...

And not professional either. I am sure many proxy webmasters [Including me] hate people who make loads of subdomain and free domain proxies. Moreover some of the better proxy lists don't accept those types of submissions.

Better to get some .99$ info domains. You can easily make that money back in the first week of your proxy's launch.

While I could spam the world with a million subdomain and free .co.cc proxies, my ethics don't allow me. ;)

I can't stop from being amazed with the noobs who are trying to ruin proxy business.
They think they could host a proxy on a free hosting, use a free domains or sub domains or embedproxies, put all kinds of ads on it and submit to listing sites.

    Pathetic.

Yes, but once they see the business is harder that they initially thought, they will give up.

I've never heard of a cheapass who made it big. While one could get by on free rides once in a while, if you only think free and cheap, you won't get anywhere much.

You have to spend money to make money. The big money that is.

I think that he was making a general statement against the spammers.

You are doing alot better than a huge % of the people in this thread, dare i say over 80% of the people who post. It makes business sense to look into methods to cut down overheads.

i'm not selling them and i don't want to show my stats.

I was just telling him i'm noob but i'm not stupid. I'm not making proxies with free domains and free hosting. I just had a question about proxies and wanted an answer and not people laugh at me.
