Yes. Some place the urls against regex to catch words or patterns. The site won't load if it does. Some also have regex to find the "1010110A" pattern that you can find in CGIproxy urls and block all cgi proxies. Most school are using the formentioned. This is why you hear CGIproxy doesn't work in alot school anymore either as long as with domains with the word proxy.

How would it matter what the website contains? Surely filtering it just bans the whole domain?

Does anyone think proxies would come to an official end? Maybe adsense want to ban them or something.

Mostly, Topsites are visitied from home to checkout if there are new proxies and the proxies itself are only used at college :D.

As long there are filters and firewalls, proxies will exist. I'm pretty sure google doesn't ban proxies. You know, google also get's $$$ for every click and if proxies make a lot of income why should they ban it ? And if they do, we also have adbrite, adversal etc :D

= Question: Does someone know how to enable SSL via GLYPE ?

    Thanks

LOL - I love this debate on the word "proxy" and schools banning the word - I have never had a problem with any proxy with the word "proxy" in the domain. I got proxys that have been running nicely for over 4 years and the traffic has never changed ie: over 1k per day. its a myth. just like traffic dying over school holiday :) - how many schools are their in the world??? how many offices in the world?? you honestly think they all block the word proxy :p - btw - the 4 year old proxy is proxytiger.com

    Hi...
Google adsense gives proxy owners low $$ to the publishers (we)
But for the clicks, they get a lot more money...
So they earn more from ads on proxies, than from ads like F.E. http://cod5.us

So I think they won't suddenly block it... but if ther would come a low that forbids proxies... than were screwed :D

Well, I dunno if the word "proxy" is a myth or not.. let's test it out ! I have 1 domainname with proxy in it so let's see if that one gets less traffic than the rest does ;)

How much do you guys spend on advertising, or at least recommend I spend on advertising?

I have a network of 11 proxies and only make an average of $1.70 per day on adsense. Ideally I'd raise this to $4-5 per day in total. I've bought a some spots on other proxies, and also blasts to some relatively small Google groups, but I really want to be getting more...
