I recently got a chargeback of 50c from paypal for a listing ( although it was listed for a month ) - you got to scratch your head when someone low enough does a dishonest chargeback to under $10
Sorry but i don't have any idea about this. Can any one reply me what is proxy thread or CGI proxy. :0
Are you using subscription based payments? If so, that could be the reason for the chargeback. Some people don't realize that they're signing up for a subscription, they are often under the impression that they'll only be paying you once.
Hmm..it is better if you put a big notice on your site, WE ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENTS FROM VERIFIED PAYPAL ACCOUNT. PAYPAL FROM UNVERIFIED ACCOUNT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND THE PAYMENT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.
I had this happen with sweetproxies.com, I immediately did a charge back. But could not. I did not even $ in my paypal, so the stupid thing did a small change auto-withdraw on my Bank account to further irritate me for $8.99 or something, I would have to wait 7 business days for that clear to even do the charge back, Then I just decided whatever, but its not something I will forget. Be more carefull now with hidden subscriptions.
Yes I'm very cautious to even use it myself. Feels like you can sell something and they do chargeback and then keep what you sold them and get Ripped off. So whats the point then if one can get ripped off so easily? This is probably why places like Amazon and Newegg.com (places I would like to shop) Only take Credit cards or money orders. But I heard Moneybookers does not allow refunds. (aka chargebacks) I'm thinking about checking that out.
Yup. Moneybookers does not allow refunds. The only way that you can ask for refunds via MB is to file a chargebacks through your credit cards company. They will liaise with MB. Unfortunately, there is less people use MB, most of them use Paypal.
i was just reading through some old proxy.org forum threads when i stumbled upon a thread saying that even if you use a dedicated ip per proxy the ip that will be shown in the websites logs will be the main server ip? and the only way to have the logs show a different ip is to use multiple network cards? First of all can some one confirm this is true? If so how would this affect things like websense/bluecoat when there bots come sniffing round our proxies? Would this still aplly if you ran proxies on different vps on the same server. I guess if you was worried about this you could regularly change the main server ip
I think I can confirm it is true. I have a site that direcly download from rapidshare. On RS logs, I saw my main IP accessing the site not the site IP.
Would this still be the case if each proxy was on a seperate vps as you virtulizing hardware? Also if you had a cluster of server or load balanced Servers would this show the ip of the server that was used at the time of request Could you not automate rotation of your main server ips after X number of hours/day
If you have a good alexa ranking then give adtoll a try. The ads dont pay well but with a low alexa you will get advertisers and you get 30 slots for advertisers and if you charge a low $1 a week you get 120 a month from the advertisers then a little extra from adtoll ads. The lower the alexa the more you can charge some people are charge $15 and higher a week. Would give my affiliate link but not allowed so just try them directly. Also globalinteractive.com isnt that bad found I made more with them then adbrite but they sneak in pop-ups so I stopped using them
Guys you keep logs of server in your proxy ? or jus GLYPE logs(that glype generates)? maintaining both is a pain ............. This FBI shit is crazy :-P ...thankgod we got TOS on our sites
