Does any one have any "decent" contact info for adbrite? I seem to keep getting the same robot who is not helpful in the slightest. Not here to bad mouth the company but they are very hard to deal with.
That's pretty nice! Great to see that your building in Proxy Newsletter forms into the actual templates which is helpful.
I'm using the Internet on a campus network and the speed is quite slow when all dorm people use the Internet. How can a proxy connection help me boost speed? I am not yet how to set up proxy settings.
I am 99% sure that a proxy browser can't increase your browsing speeds, but instead slow them down due to the proxy browser relaying information through another IP and back to your PC, I'm pretty sure that makes it impossible to speed up the browsing process as you're still downloading the same information.
A proxy would not increase your speed. But you may want to check out your DNS resolvers on your computer. They can be the culprit sometimes with regards to speed. If you don't know what that is, in a nutshell, your computer has to ask another computer what for example 'ww.google.com' is as an IP address, If your ISP's DNS resolvers are slow and you can't get the IP fast enough you get timeouts or just slow, then I suggest to use another one like 4.2.2.1 (which is a LEVEL3.net resolver) or maby OpenDNS.com. If you using windows you can the change the DNS resolvers in the control panel somewhere in connection settings.
You should get a real private proxy(*hostort. They cache data increasing your browsing speed. It is very hard to find them though, most you find on internet are public proxies and often slow.
I am glad that you like that and is also pretty easy to edit if people download it. They only have to add their Yahoo / Group group URL in the config.php. Any other opinions on my new template (www.niddz.com) ?
it looks good however i not care for the break in the background. links - i am sure you will be able to sell some.
Alright, quick question. Let's say a proxy of mine gets banned from MySpace. Does that mean the server's IP that is hosting that proxy is banned? I'm curious because I'm currently hosting my proxies from a dedicated server. If one gets banned would they all get banned? Thanks, -nux
Depends if myspace blocks ip or urls but I dont think you get banned from myspace Your proxy get banned on schools and offices.
Ohh thanks for clearing that up. Excuse the noob questions, I've been in the proxy 'scene' about a week now.
Does data transfer rate decease with the use of a Proxy ? If so how much on average. I noticed slow site navigation by dial up site visitors. Cheers
It will be slow for dial up user coz your are using low qualiy host. If you want your user to happy, try change to decent host
Network administrators at School's and work places will begin to ban your IP address. Then every proxy you create will always be blocked from these schools and work places.
Is this a manual process that the school / business admins perform or is it process completed by the filtering software that is used? I thought that the majority of filtering software actively scans the contents of URLs and websites in near real time and would categorize the sites appropriately. Then the filter software would place the url in a database for further reference? If it is not a manual process, what filtering companies are using the IP address identifier to block sites?
