Hello,

I was interested in purchasing some proxy sites to get started in ecommerce. Are proxy websites still profitable? Should I continue to do my research or was this only a fad for a period of time?

It is harder to run a successful proxy at the moment because of the summer, a lot of kids arnt in school anymore and don't need a proxy.

But you can still make it if you know what market to target. Personally I am waiting till September to start my network

Proxy site has nothing to do with electronic commerce (selling stuff)
But with proxy sites being profitable? A very unattractive industry would be one approaching "pure competition" according to Porter 5 forces analyis which I think proxy sites are probably in that area with new people jumping in all the time ,the results is many new entrants in the biz, which will effectively decrease profitability. I heard not long ago it was easy to make $100 a day with proxy sites. Not so much now, you might make $20 - 30 day, if you compete for it and find ways to get traffic.

aha Thanks Dollar for the reply. Unfortunately managing http://mwolk.com is not my main thing hence I get very less time to manage it. The site has way too much white space and I don't have much idea what to do, if you have suggestions than please tell me.

I have made the premium proxies as sitewide (you should had told me this earlier) Now they are being shown on 600+ Pages. If you need something more or have more suggestions than tell me, since you guys have better understanding of this proxy thing and what ppl are looking for.

If you have any suggestions of restructuring the site than please tell me.

Hi Sub, I am not sure what do you mean by conversions, you mean traffic or ppl clicking on the proxy sites ? Unfortunately I dont (not sure even I can) track people click on the proxy links. Anyway you can just tell me the date from when to when you want, and I can give you the analytics stats.

 

I think he meant clicks from the US visitors, if he meant that I would like to know how to track that...

 

303 means that got moved, temporary. The page they visit, is moved temporary? So Im trying to find out why..

 

The pages most probably a proxified pages. Maybe you use glype with unique url turn on, so when people visit the same link twice, they are most likely will see 303 pages.

 

Question to most, are you finding a significant drop in traffic/revenue since School's have broken up for Summer now. It was suggested research done recently, which I can't vouch for, allegedly produced a figure in which users accidentally click blended ads and it's also been suggested Children have a significantly higher accidental click rate than adults.

Anyone had any drops in figures to support this?

 

Could I please get some input on how to advertise/promote a network of 35 proxys? Also what needs to be done to maintain the promotion? How much should I spend each month promoting the network? Finally with a network of this size and proper promotion what kind of daily revenue could I make?? Thanks for your Help

I think India is also a very big quality traffic contributor ... Some colleges are starting from 20th this month and most of them from Aug.!

Schools dont really have internet connections for students ... but Unvi. students certain waste more than half of their day on ORKUT and FACEBOOk here !

 

I don't really care when the schools will start again, I'm getting $3-5 now daily and receiving more and more backlinks. I'm already building some traffic on here .
