I've been telling Will (owner of tech faq) his proxy listing sites are filling up with shit. He keeps saying he's working on it...
Your right though, no subdomains. Proxy.org is about the cleanist site I know. He will tell you take a hike! If you try to use any subdomain.

Can anyone recommend a good VPS provider who allows proxies? Also what specs should I be looking for to run a reasonably low traffic network with lots of room to grow and (most importantly) fast?

    EDIT:
Yes! 250 posts, and now I am a Raider!

Whats the problem if they put a bunch of free subdomains pointing to their proxy?

I have a few of these also for the past year.

I pay for my freedns subscription.

I havent seen any of their sites but i dont see how they are doing any thing wrong from what you are saying your just bitter!

in this situation i will not be the good guy... i will be a fool watching... if i don't spam too

if you want to promote your proxy in some places must spam too, from here started everything ,from the first spammer and now you are forced to spam to survive

i spammed too but as answer to other spammers, what to do ? just watch ?

    Not really following this

If you chose to advertise your proxys in that way then fair play no one else really should care what you (or the subdomain guys) do.

I agree on both points. My proxies list launched last month does not and never has allowed sub domains.

I am still trying to clear out the embedproxies.com sites, not many got through the review process.

    Good point newzone,

Hate to see some of these proxies with subdomains, it only make the list look much longer horizontally.

Spmmers are so stupid, i know some of them are doing it for backlinks.
Would you believe i've seen a submission myspace.com?
Yes believe it, it happen more than once on two different occasions lol

    These idiots.

Guys at the end of the day, subdomain or not:

If the proxy is not blocked by the end users filtering company then its fair play. If it is blocked its game over for that user and you just lost potential to make money.

No need to get depressed about it.

What difference does it make if they spend $1 on a .info domain or use a free subdomain? Zero difference the goal is to provide a server to the end user, and the limiting factor is the domain.

Good business sense tells you to cut unnecessary costs so the guys messing with subdomains are probably laughing at you for not ;)

Moan about something worth while like popups or something :D

Do you see the first words i bolded above there?
I need not worry about them.
Can't believe you guys are still concern about the proxyhunters lol
I'm gonna say no more on this...

Laugh at me?.. When their subdomains are remove by all toplist owners who will be luaghing?:D

    Roflmao.

EuroSrv is a premium VPS selling host that I use to host my proxies, I really like them, cheap prices, and they are good with support.

Things seem to be getting a bit rough in here again :(

Half the people reading this probably agree.
The other half, armed with their recently purchased "Make $XXXX with Proxies" ebooks, Are probably thinking yeah! I'll have to try this, thanks for the tips!

I'm not concerned much about "proxy hunters" either, thats right I would rather be found! lol

We know proxy.org will not except sub-domains nor self signed SSL certs. Its about quality and reliability.
