    I don't know about a proxylist.txt, but www.xroxy.com has Socks lists...

Better yet, you can rent a vps here www.wdservers.com for $15 a month and have a SSH socks5 proxy all to your self.

Better to use a proxy grabber to check the proxies on your computer. Most of the so called working proxies are checked on the webmaster's computer or server and may not work on your server. If you don't want to do that yourself, you can go to the proxy list in my signature.

I completely missed this post! Thanks for the invite and I will join :)

My hopes for this forum are just to have a private place to chat with a few friendly proxy webmasters. Access to the (highly secret ,lol) private boards is intended to be for proxy webmasters only.
It makes no sense to me to discuss how to keep sites from being blocked etc.. in a public place such as this.
I'm not trying to create some big popular commercial forum.

Sorry, I was hesitant in posting about this again,
I just wanted to reply to this post.
(I won't mention this here again, I promise, no need for a flaming)

there has to be more than just a handful of proxy related forums out there - I think the only one worth using at the moment is webproxytalk and this thread at the moment :)

Come give proxywhispers.com a we hand ;) (not my site)

Would love to see it grow into something which isnt just people spamming all day because no one wants to know what peoples newest proxy is on their $1 webhost sigh

Actually, I find most all I need to know about proxies from DP.
With all of the info in here, I can just bookmark this page and save from having to sort through Google and all the spam.
    (Yes, I tried).

    Great thread.

hey mates. I am looking to pick up as much international proxy traffic as I can. (Iran, China etc..) Yes I said I WANT to get that traffic and as much as possible. I am doing some experiements to see if I can monetize it well enough to turn a profit in the summer time.

What I would like your input on is where/how I can get as much of that traffic as possible. Where have you advertised that you found brings that type of traffic. Just any pointers or direction. Or if anyone wants to dump some of their traffic they can redirect it to my site www.keytodoor.info

    Any tips are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    MAtt

My template is quite a common template and gets super super low CTR for adsense so I dont think you would be interested. I make most of my proxy income from proxified pages anyway.

Nah don't worry, there's no reason to flame you mate. Good luck with proxywhispers ;)

Hey Matt! Been awhile since we talked :) One good way would be to post your proxy URL on Chinese blogs. I did that before and got over 50,000 China visitors easily in 2 days xD The bad news however is once your proxy gets soo much traffic from China, China will ban your whole server IP and you will see a sharp decline in traffic.

I'm curious about where you located those blogs as well.

I've already got a decent amount of Chinese traffic on my sites and with a decent hotlinking solution I find that while it's not terribly profitable it's still worth serving if you have the bandwidth to support it...

I happened to know a few Chinese friends who have blogs with huge traffic, once you have got some chinese traffic, traffic will easily grow as they are hungry for proxies and will simply tell all their friends about a working proxy. When I was serving 50k daily Chinese visitors at that time it was already maxing out my 4 gigs of ram and only making about $5-$10 a day on adsense.

Previously you can check http://www (dot) greatfirewallofchina (dot) org to see if your proxy IP is banned. However due to stricter censorship measures they have taken down the test tool already so you can no longer check.
