There's a thread on this over in the glype.com forums, and it seems like it's just a bug in the 0.6 beta code from what I've been reading...

For the last month or so I have read that their response time has been pretty slow. , but they should get back to you soon..

Today I am comparing the different networks to see if I should switch from canep back to one of the others for better payouts.

Has anyone here actually contacted google and asked if ads could be placed on the proxified pages?

Would seem if the issue was the content on the site then someone could write a mod that would look for keywords on the page and serve up a different network of ads if the page content was not within googles TOS.

Now I ask this because if you look at this none proxy site http://www.myipneighbors.com/ and type in the url of a adult site then you will see on the results page you can browse the adult site while there google ads are still showing.

So I wonder if this was a huge rumor started as people were getting banned and assumed it was from serving ads on the proxified page or is there firm facts to back this?

No, but I have an account with them, so I may put them on one of my performing sites to see what results I can get.

    Just wondering...

My proxy, (this is the second week; www.unlimitedsurfing.com) is recently making about 80 cents a day from the 3 bucks it was making and traffic is low. What happened you think? Got blocked?

But if it got blocked, wouldn't it just get blocked by one school system but what about all the other people in the US/World?

Yes and no. A common thing I see on forums is "my site is blocked". What a bunch of crap. Sure, there is going to be some restrictions but how do you think the larger proxy sites maintain traffic levels in the thousands per day when they have been around for years?

Secondly, who wants 300 users from the same IP block clicking google ads more than once anyway? The ideal user is the US/UK cable modem/DSL user. That's where the money is. Unfortunately, the content attached to those users is porn.

Regarding the issues with glype, I have seen server loads going crazy as well, and I am not even running the beta version. I have been looking and I think this is caused by processes not stopping.

Exactly...how do the sites that have been going on for years maintain.

So should I keep advertising or what?

I also found that eventually the IP of the server will be blocked as well. I have ran other types of websites on the server I use for proxies and they are blocked by bluecoat as "proxy avoidance" when it may be a gardening website. Go figure.

I actually had a similar issue when I tested v0.5.3 on one of my Quad Core 2.4 boxes with 4GB of ram, and when i threw a few thousand visitors at it the box just caved under the excessive load it was causing...

At the time I attributed it to the server as that particular box had rather poor I/O, but maybe it was something more along the lines of a runaway process...

My traffic seems to die 30% to 45% in 'big' holidays, as soon as Schools and Colleges start again I make a lot so it's worth is in the end.

I still earn money in holidays but not as much as I do.

Don't think I've seen this question being asked where, but what's your traffic and revenue like on weekends?

    Thank you.

Normally on the weekends revenue is at around 10% of weekday levels. Holidays I see drops of 30% - 70% usually, depending on whether it's just a US holiday or something global (like easter)

What is going on . I had a high ctr but since i started up a little proxy network it dropped big time. Before i started with proxies i was getting from about .50 to over $1 a click but granted no traffic on my investing site. Now tith proxies i get over 6k visitors a day o clicks on adbrite and about 6 or so a day on adsense but average .01 a click huge difference from $1 a click to 01 a click. Do i need to drop proxies all together to get my high click rate again. As of now with over 12k visitors to my proxy site i made like .08 from adbrite and maybe .07 from adsense

The question is though, where are these people coming from...

Adsense on that much traffic should be earning you anything in the range of $1.00 to $3.00 eCPM with even reasonable proxy traffic, but if 90% of your visitors are from China and the Middle East, then they'll pay the sort of rates you are seeing, and you may end up 'Smart Priced' with Google and you'll get that magic $0.01 click rate for everything.

Are you running any kind of statistics tracking code that lets you see a geographical breakdown of your visitors ?
