Some of you might use SSL on your proxies. Which company offers affordable SSL certs for multiple domains? I'm thinking of enabling SSL on all of my proxies.
it looks like your congiuration with your ssl is a problem or your host's ip there is blocked by the site because I can access that https site you gave from my normal non-ssl proxy fine. godaddy has very cheap prices. 1 domain = $29.99/yr 5 domains = $69.99/year
Yeah, I looked into Godaddy awhile ago.. From your experiences, is it worth using SSL for all proxies? Let say for 15 proxies.. By using SSL, will the site still be blocked? I need to know the advantages/disadvantages using SSL on proxies.
not at all or rare. https sites can be accessed via normal proxies and most users are just getting a way out to surf the net and not intended to shop or do financing via proxy (I'm not saying there are none but VERY rare). People would like to surf for fun or to gain access to most sites (which dont use ssl cert). Plus most will use the computer proxy wise services from reputable commpanies if they really do need proxies for finance. BUT it never hurts to have 1-2 in a network. I would say start with one and see how that one goes. for 1 domain? you can get about 5 domains cert with that price at Godaddy plus the coupon code = lesser
ABout the ads, its ok..just nevermind that..I asked someone from MSN and he verify the ads are relevant. SSL, currently I use InstantSSL on one of my site. rapidSSL = $70/yr for 1 domain while so far the cheapest around is godaddy with $69.99/yr for 5 domains. The thing is, I want to know if its worth to use SSL on proxies which its lifetime is short. Can it still be blocked by filters even it had SSL?
just in a amount of time, there will be ip ban and its worst than having site banned. BUT with https site is bound to stay way longer.
I know some schools don't filter SSL because my school didn't(now they do). I'm assuming that is because HTTPS runs on a different port than 80(443 I think). The only problem with that is users have to know to type in https:// or their browser will assume to just use normal http. I doubt many kids are gonna understand that. Even if you forward http to https, if it is blocked already they won't be redirected to the secure one.
Why is bitkit.info not yet blocked by my filters? It's been a month. I wonder what the owner's using.
yeah its on different port but can still be blockable if they wish to and some have started doing so due to slow but steady growing trend of https proxy. and most likely if a cert warning comes up most users will ignore or get alarmed and stay away (kids do not know secure site)
my new normal proxy isnt being blocked for 6 months and not yet so ssl can live longer if played right
For a server specs like these: Sempron 2.8GHz 2GB RAM 400GB HDD Unmetered Bandwidth. How many proxy can be hosted on? (and still can load normally)
What did you do? Switching to different IPs? What's your URL, it may be blocked by Bluecoat. Experienced once where it was banned for one day, never touched it (no visitors and promotion), and it got unbanned, when I opened it, got banned again lol.
well cant say but lets say your proxies are popular max 10 proxies with 70-80% high traffic ones. i'm still getting more and more uniques even though been many months. i dont give away proxy names
Max 10 huh..I got 12 now.. Seems its a right choice for me to stop creating proxies.. maybe gotta find another server soon.
well yes occasinally I have to change whole ip blocks/groups to a new one to make it survive longer. not really you dont need to stop. Never start sites and think about "what will happen when they grow" and get new servers. You dont need them and waste of $. Keep doing. That way you will have starter sites running giving you income, and then when the time comes, extend/expand hosting. Never do initially without experiencing. ____ If I do this right, I'll be posting and replying for next few pages?? haha
true, I will let them grow and see if they can maxed out my server. once they reach the limit, I'm sure I can cover the cost of having another server.. Thanks for the words kaung.
