6 proxies in 3 days...wow. But doesn't proxies eat up lots of bandwidth and so more hosting? So how much bandwidth do you need to run 6 proxies?
Making a proxy takes like 15minutes And yes, it probably takes more bandwith, but here I'm lucky. My websites are being hosted on a private server owned by a company NOT selling hosting or anything related to it. I have unlimited bandwith ^^ And I'm not paying for it Yea, I'm really very lucky when I think about it... I have used 300mb this month, but I don't get a lot of hits yet... Just checked my adsense report, I get around 20 hits on my proxies, no clicks..
The Impression reporting in your adsense account is not a accurate measure at all of how much traffic you have. Thats just page impressions.
I know some schools that went back on this wednesday, and some that will be back on monday. Traffic should be back next week I think.
Actually this week from wednesday my traffic already starts to recover. And today it's going to get to the peak after Christmas. However, today Adbrite is playing with me. 359 CPM impressions with 26,121 AdZone Views...crap...
My traffic started to recover after Wednesday a little bit, but hopefully it will be back to normal Monday.
You are very lucky then. I am taking up 300mb a day with one proxy. I am waiting to see if the ROI this month really makes everything worth it.
Also - Somewhat proxy related - Here's a perl script I came across that is useful for monitoring server load (which is important when running a proxy of course). This script will send you an email once the server load goes over the number you specify. The perl script I use is a hacked version of this one that sends a smaller email so I can send text message to my phone. Open file to edit variables and upload to your server. Rename from .txt to .pl and then run a cron job to check the server load X amount of times an hour/whenever. Anyways... Enjoy.
yeah traffic is back made 11$ yesterday and 6.75$ today, but the weekend is here now so earnings will only be like 3-5$ till monday which i am hoping with the extra people going back to school will boost it up to 10$+ again.
country of your traffic will depend on the place where your proxy is being promoted. as example if you promote your proxy on russian sports site. your traffic will become russian It doesn't matter where you host your site
I don't get any traffic, call that lucky? What kind of advertising did you do for it? My proxies still don't get any real traffic.
On my proxy sites combined i get around 1500 hits a day, impressions on google adsense from what i can recall it was about 5000-7500 until my account got suspended, now i am using no advertising program, just trying to sell my network now. I used Yahoo answers (however watch out, a lot of 'arses' on there that hate proxy sites, i am sure someone through yahoo answers invalid clicked my websites, dont see who else it could of been) i also use myspace bulletins, but they are some what overated, i doubt i get much traffic from there. I have also used paid advertising in the bst section of this forum, i never paid too much for advertising though $6 at the most, think all in all i paid $15 for advertising. I also link my proxy sites in my signature and on zelune.net. Will.
