i have some domains which i have not promoted at all. i am planning to make proxies from them

here is the deal
1. i give domains
2. i give hosting
3. i put my ads on front page of that proxy and the other person gets to put his ads on the proxified pages

i need a person who will promote my proxy at any/all places ranging from yahoo answers, groups, google groups, msn groups, newsletters and then sell that proxy.

we will share profits of the sale equally............

Thats a great idea. I have some domains lying around too - so tell me if you want them. You get ads on proxified pages + 20% of adsense revenue via PAYPAL

I talked to shady and he recommended aweber - but what with the vacations coming up, i wonder if it'd be worth spending $20 a month for two months.

...and they dont accept paypal - that really does it for me. maybe i'll try getresponse.

I believe it is a pretty good response. I believe I have only been using for 1 month and up to over 2500 subscribers. About 100-150 sign up a day but not all double confirm.

I was using another type prior, and they got blocked mostly. When I started with aweber I lost about 300-500 members as when you import to aweber all imported have to reconfirm....

 

Thanks for that info, guess I have been pretty lucky so far. I'll have to look into blocking all cox.net subdomains.

 

Got a quick question.. I want to sign up for adbrite, do I have to have my proxy or any other site up before I do? Also, I am underage.. Is this ok for me to sign up, or should I have a parent help me out on this one?

I believe you can sign up before you own a site though Id recommend building your site first.

As for underage, what country do you live in? They dont have an age on their form but they do require a Social for US citizens.

 

Great news everyone! There has some custom mods such as youtube compatibility mod and others being released for free right at WebProxyTalk.com These mods normally cost quite a big amount of $ if purchased here from DP.

j/w what is your guys max file size for your proxies? I have it set to 1 MB and I would think that would be enough to handle a lot of sites files out there.

Nope no blow fish encoding. As for now we only have PHProxy mods but we are still developing more mods for other proxy scripts as well.

 

Alright I have looked at the 'youtube enabler' script and support you posting it for free getting everyone exited thinking that their gonna get youtube to work at school or at work but what it simply does is load the native http://youtube.com/player2.swf flash player from youtube's site ( Which would be blocked in the first place if a visitor was trying to use youtube with ones' proxy. ) and also loads the .flv file from youtube's site. When a visitor is using a proxy it means that they are most likely behind a firewall/filter that blocks any instance of youtube.com being connected to via that computer so neither the flash player nor the flash video would load if they were blocked.

What a 'youtube enabler' script is supposed to do is load its own flash player because youtube's doesn't allow for people to enter their own custom video file links into it and then download the actual video file from youtube's servers and proxy it so people aren't connecting to youtube.com at all.

Wow, I have received my first criticism! (Although I had to read through it 3-4 times to get an idea what he was saying )

Umm, what can I say? I agree with some of his points, this mod needs improvements since it's still on beta phase and I need volunteer's to test mods when I make them. Before this mod was released a few students, (from what I know) who were blocked behind a firewall at school tried it and it worked... At the end of the day, isn't functionality what is important? You might say "What if the school IT Admin finds out about the streaming of youtube and then block the proxy?". Well, at the end of the day, proxies will always be blocked by school and workplaces, even if you have a $1000 Super Duper Cool Mod...

I've been caught red handed !!! I'm no PHP Guru, so any help (like testing my mods or helping out with coding) or advice will be much appreciated like my mate bemaniso here!

Note: Looks like youtube has made some changes to render mod useless, I'm currently in the process of getting this fixed... Stay Tuned
