The price of articles on DP

Take no notice of what others say here, it is more than possible to pick up clients that are looking for serious writers - $40-$50 per article is more than achievable.

 

maybe you can offer 3$ /article...
next, the DP user will judge it... if it is too high, they will negotiate it..

Remember you haven't get any reputation...
so i think you must sell it with friendly price..
if you have built reputation, you can set higher.. higher and higher

You should be able to charge more than $3 for an article - even when you're just getting started.

I started at $0.01 / word when I had no experience, and I'm gradually raising my rates. I'll do short articles that offer reliable income for low prices (purely because I need SOME reliable income), and charge $0.20 for more specialist work. Even that's low compared to some people on here.

Raising my rates has been a slow process - I still have some existing clients that I took on at low prices, those clients won't pay more, but I can't afford to just stop working for them. It's better to charge more from the start than to fall into the trap of working for low rates and not having the time to find better clients because you're too busy.

 

You can afford to stop working for anyone. That is not an excuse.

The problem is one of two. Either you do not portray yourself as being good enough is the first. The second is that you personally do not think you are good enough.
80% of the people that give lectures, give seminars, or sell you books are incapable of doing what they are presenting.

Etali: or others. What PROOF do you having showing results your client can see. Can you offer a money back guarantee? I cannot take on any more Free tutors, but for free I can show some fun ways to make you more professionally qualified to your clients. Any interest?

 

Speak about yourself. Some people (third world) will prefer to write for $3 the article rather than working with an abusing boss.

I think you completely did not understand what I said. If you did, you might agree.
I despise third world country people being taken advantage of. In fact, it is time to stop. I could show anyone of them how to fool 95% of the abusers, and then spend time learning.
Learning and Having a brain has nothing to do with where you live, or how much money you earn.
My wife does substantial business (with my encouragement) with third world countries and others. India, Pakistan, Philippines, etc. However she will only do business with a person than does not work for an abusive boss.

If you actually READ my posts, I am in favor of people getting paid double or triple, regardless of country.
I am currently working with one in Pakistan and one in India. What are you doing for FREE? How many of these people are you helping gain freedom?

It's just a matter of finding them. ... Obviously.

 

The problem with most freelance writers, especially the new ones, is that they get so preoccupied with their offered rates. I believe the more important concern is good reputation. Once you are able to prove your competency and reliability as a content provider, then fair rates will follow. As for $40 - $50 per article rate, you can't really find them here. One has to work for such rate, and once you are able to prove your worth, clients who are willing to pay this amount will come.

First point is : YOU ARE IN THE WRONG SUB-FORUM . Please go and post these Service ads to the forum Business > Buy, Sell, Trade > Content Creation .

The sub-forum "Copywriting" is essentially for discussions related to writing copy, articles etc . Some people do advertise their services either in direct or indirect manner over here, but that is less than welcome by most members.
