What is really making the difference when choosing between companies offering the same service?

In my opinion, instead of graphics and design, content is king in marketing too ;) not just for adsense. Resulting attractive and concise at the same time is a difficult task, but it must the your first priority when writing a commercial text :) This is what I do when writing a press release for example, and I have effective results from this technique. What are your strategies to make your sales text interesting?

    Cheers!

Talk to people. I don't just write about how great I am all the time (I mean I'm great, but I don't write about it :) ) but how you will benefit from me.

It's a simple trick, but it works every time.

I would say writing as natural as possible. I see so many times people with their official copywriter with their university degree writing content that are dead and boring,... or the marketing departments with their cheap ettempt to write advertisements disguised as articles. When I say natural, I mean with hidden humour or just the way you have told it in a conversation. Allow your arogance or high self esteem to apear in the theme of the content.

Content has proven itself to be more important than any artsy website design out there. Google loves content and the keywords in content. When designing a website design it around your content it will prove to be much more affective than just pretty graphics.

Yeah, Content is very important but beside it, all your SEO efforts are also very important. Try to get many backlinks to your website and you will increase your steady search engine traffic.

    Yes boohlick

My team has a specific routine. An article is published, mentioned in a newsletter, mentioned in a blog and submitted to several directories. Not to mention the benefits of RSS Feeds of these articles. A press release however is something you will email to different news sites to be published.

The wording of commercial text is the main weapon in your arsenal.
It's quite easy to get it wrong, and it does have a direct impact upon your conversion.

I read somewhere that a young Poet is much better at commercial and article text writing than someone with a fresh Marketing Degree - I think that there's alot of truth in that.

So many times I read websites 'pitch' and wonder if they actually get any sales as it's so poorly written. At the same time, I noticed a grammar mistake on one of my websites which had been up for a few months and felt like a right mug :)
