You forgot some suggestions: In the video description, a link to your page should be on the first line, that way it can be seen while the video is being watched. If the video is embedded in your site, you should post a link to the address where the video is embedded, as well as the home page. AVI files do not compress very well. While an AVI video might be 200 megs, the same video converted to MPG might be around 100 megs. Then, use a compressor to get the video down to as small of a file as you can get, while still holding the videos quality. A bad quality video picture is going to be made worse when youtube resizes the video. Be sure to add your site logo at the start and end of the video, and add a copyright at the end. If you are concerned about theft, buy a watermark program and watermark the entire length of the video. Watermarking the entire length will prevent the video from being downloaded, broken apart and parts of the video being used somewhere else. While watermarking the entire length is not "professional" it should detour theft. As of today my youtube videos have been viewed 1.3 million times with an average viewing of 5,000 - 6,000 views daily. Good advice, but it's a bit outdated. While getting all the views you can is great, views coming from embeds do not count towards receiving Honors for your videos. Getting Honors status is really significant when your video is new -- it gives you top rankings in Youtube SERPS for your chosen keywords. Figure out how to get direct views to your Youtube video, and you will win in the long run. (Hint, check my sig...hint hint )
