    hello Friends,
Everyone is always trying for The Big Idea; Personally, I hope in the power of small ideas.
I have a small idea to find current activity of your competitor.Steps bellow..

    1. Go to Google home page.
    2. Put your competitor link like “domain.com” and click search button
    3. See left side of the page and click past 24 hours link
    4. Get past 24 hours updates about your competitor from Google.
enjoy and give me your feedback....

    What's with the silly font?
And if you want to know what's up with your competitors, just use Google Alerts and get it delivered to your inbox.

Apart from using Google Alerts as mentioned above, I would saying your method is god enough but waste too much of time in my opinion. It would be better spend your time on link building or analyze your competitor backlinks instead of just their activity, which would not help you much really.

Sxperm is unfortunately right. One shouldn't concentrate too much on the competition.
