No... we're still talking about Google -- we've just proved that Google uses on-page factors for ranking :D

And we've proved that Mickey Mouse visits porn sites... or something like that

there are too many webmaster forums out there as well. Do you have faith in yourself that you can help create one that blows them all away, like DP has blown away all the other webmaster forums?

Forums are way too much work, unless you have 50,000 members and 500+ online you will find it hard to make big money and it takes 5 years or more to get there ST.

Just don't have the time and would rather develop portals and other projects that may have a forum attached.

BS, respectfully disagreeing. http://www.sitetutor.net/forums.php has lots of members and I am not even a part of it any longer. My real estate forum is doing well, too. You have 2 more link spots in your sig and an empty blog spot and you have 7k+ posts.
If I start a forum and you support me, you can create an awesome community.
A top banner to your name bank will create you business like crazy.
If you want it, PM me.
    I am serious.
    You have the energy ....

Forum would be great if you have several loyal friends willing to help you out and be moderators and have one or 2 co-admins, if not, you will end up spending all your time there. I agree that a forum is one of the most complicated type of sites to create. I would never build or buy a forum, I'd rather focus on all my other sites.

TOOT, I don't post on Digital Point or any other forum to promote my own forums, I really think that it is not good to do such, just about everyone has a forum now and it is not really a goal of mine to start one.

If I did I would not promote it on Shawn's forum as he is too good and has too much class for me to treat him like that.

If I wanted to promote my forum I would just buy banner ads on other forums or buy ADWORDS.

I would be happy to look at your concepts and discuss any deals with you but read the above over to see what I will and will not do.

i'll admit to only keeping up with half this thread, but I did have a question for ya AC. Sorta unrelated to the point you were making, but would you be willing to advertise a non SEO/computer forum on here? Like a health one or something? I'm just curious if that would be a conflict.

Maybe one day, when I have time (so probably never lol) I wouldn't mind having a health related forum, which is why i ask your opinion

Wendy, this gave me the idea to start a real estate forum http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=5276
Promoting here? Hmmm ... is it going to hurt DP?
I doubt it. There is no domain for sale section here. It is not a bad idea. You have 400 names, AC. I also have 2 friends who are high profile domainers who I have met back in the days on afternic.

Lemme know if you change your mind :)
