So you think that Google will not drop known link farms and those that sell high PR links as long as they don't advertise this practice?
Of course its not immoral to buy or sell links, you as a physcologist should understand that morals apply to relationships between humans, not between humans and machines. As for dropping the term ethical from my sig, that was done about a year ago, because in my opinion there is nothing ethical or unethical in the practice of SEO, ethics refer to your relationships with persons not search engines. Nice to see that you are still a master of the sly slur though Minstrel. UH Minstrel... this thread is about the power of google according to the title, but my point was that there is nothing wrong with using links no matter where they come from, just as there is nothing wrong with using page titles. You seem to have espoused the idea that purchased links will be penalized and I wanted to expose what a silly idea it would be to do that as then you could buy links to penalize your competitors.
There is nothing wrong with using links no matter where they come from That is what you just said, right Mel
If you were intent on something besides casting aspersions you might have noted that the rankings on that page were as of a certain date (Feb 28th) and that I have provided a link so that you could check the current rankings. Why do you think that 36 out of 42 first page rankings is so bad Minstrel. Perhaps you could show us your rankings so that we could all learn from the master?
Right you got it in one Anthony, there is nothing wrong, there is some possibility that they may not all be treated equally, but that is not on the subject of right and wrong..
He is talking about the search terms you are ranking for, not the SERP positions Mel No one searches on such terms Mel PS: So Mel it is all right with you when there are spam porn sites linking to your sites when you run a back link check on Google
The point, Mel, is that your claims are at best inaccurate/misleading, even ignoring for the moment the question of whether anyone would actually search for these terms... Actually,#3 Actually #20 Actually, #13... Evidently, Mel isn't quite as "expert" or "ethical" as he claims As for my sites, these are for terms people actually use: http://www.google.com/search?source...LD,GGLD:2005-12,GGLD:en&q=ottawa+psychologist #1 and 2 http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...12,GGLD:en&q=ottawa+psychologists&btnG=Search #4 and 5 http://www.google.com/search?source...LD:2005-12,GGLD:en&q=+psychologists+in+ottawa #1 and 2 http://www.google.com/search?source...=GGLD,GGLD:2005-12,GGLD:en&q=psychology+forum #3 (out of about 5,570,000) http://www.google.com/search?source...s=GGLD,GGLD:2005-12,GGLD:en&q=self-help+forum #1 and 2
While I agree that they are not so competitive as SEO for instance but the term expert search engine optimization is searched on roughly 3100 times per month, and other variations of the term like search engine optimization expert are searched on a similar amount. Bottom line - scoff all you want boys, but they bring in more business than I need.
Actually, that's "psychologist" and as for your definition of "moral" I don't agree -- nor do I agree that SEO practices are about something that is "between humans and machines" -- if you're manipulating the SEs, you're doing it because you are attempting to manipulate people -- more smokescreen. Curiously, it's still there in the nav bar on your website, Mel
Why Yes Minstrel that is correct and if you wait a while you might see it at #15 or at #9 and next month you may see it at #3 again, I do not reoptimize my site daily. Those rankings were accurate at the time they were published, but of course you choose to ignore that fact even though it has been pointed out to you. I have nothing to hide Minstrel which is why I take the trouble to put a live link on the page so the rankings can be verified. Is it your purpose just to slander or is it possible that you might get back on track with the discussion again. I might note in passing however that neither Wordtracker or Overture report any searches for Ottowa phsycologist.
Well then correct me with the number of searches for those terms correctly spelled Minstrel I am sure we are all interested to find out the truth.
Try ottawa psychologist or psychologist in ottawa Try psychology forum or self-help forum Try spell-checker
Ok Minstrel Wordtracker Overture Yep just as I suspected real heavy duty terms, but I am surprised that you didn't know there was no traffic for that term. Ps please feel free to correct my spelling since that seems to be so important to you. You can do the rest of the research Minstrel, your rather wierd personality is making me tired. Can I suggest a good psychologist? Or do we have to sit here all night trading insults so you can get the last word?
Why should anyone care if a porn site links to them???? You have no control over who links to you and thus it casts no aspersions on your site and you are not penalized for it.
I asked Google to remove many porn sites that were linking to us. Why would I do something that stupid Mel Because they were coming up in searches for our keywords and domain Mel
Try one of the ones without the word "Ottawa" then Mel... although in truth if someone is searching for a psychologist they generally aren't interested in one situated half-way around the world. Try "psychology forum" or "self-help forum" if you prefer... I don't use Wordtracker or Overture but I do know that a lot of people find my sites using Google. All that aside, I don't see the word "expert SEO" in any of my sigs or on any of my sites, do you? My point was that the evidence you present to back up your self-assigned designation isn't even accurate... or even very meaningful.
Look who comes up #1 for "crap expert ethical search engine optimization": http://www.google.com/search?source...rap+expert+ethical+search+engine+optimization
I have no idea why that happened but it would not be because they linked to you. Anchor text links are attributed to the site they link to not the site that is doing the linking. How on earth did you get Google to ""Remove" links that were pointing to you? To the best of my knowledge they will simply not entertain such requests.
